GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence on Thursday predicted that Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion, would be overturned if Donald Trump is elected president.

“I’m pro-life and I don’t apologize for it,” he said during a town hall meeting here. “We’ll see Roe vs. Wade consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs.”

The comments — made in a conservative stronghold that strongly supported Texas Sen. Ted Cruz over Trump in the Michigan primary — were part of a broader argument Pence has been making on the stakes of the election: Voters need to consider that the next president will likely select multiple Supreme Court justices.

Pence said Trump would appoint strict constitutionalists in the mold of the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

“While we’re choosing a president for the next four years, this next president will make decisions that will impact our Supreme Court for the next 40,” he said. “… Go tell your neighbors and your friends, for the sake of the rule of law, for the sake of sanctity of life, for the sake of our Second Amendment, for the sake of all our other God-given liberties, we must insure the next president appointing justices to the Supreme Court is Donald Trump.”

Rash promise. It will serve as a sound bite rallying cry by the Dem Party to bring out their voters.

What a dumb ass! Meanwhile the best comeback Trump can muster for Biden is that he would like to hit the little guy... Sheesh!!

Picking Trump or Hillery is like picking warts or herpes.

I don't see Trump as a wart or herpes.

I like Trump. Pence is a meh for me. No better or worse than Kaine.

Hillary represents a really bad case of warts and herpes to me. She should be awaiting trial right now.

Hillary is a sick pup, but I can't muster gumption for Trump. My problem is I see many similar traits in the two of them: huge ego, exaggeration, lack of transparency, flip flopping, pandering, grand standing, narcissism.

Hopefully, Assange will pull through and do Hillary in on the next dump. : )

One trait that Trump shows not shared by Hillary in this Presidential campaign.

Trump doesn't need the job. In fact he's making a "yuge" sacrifice both personally and financially.

I respect Trump for jumping into this race as an outsider because he feared for the direction America was on.

True, he does not need the job. However, he is a quick study and can see the lucrative side of taking the job.

However, he is a quick study and can see the lucrative side of taking the job.

He's a billionaire. He's almost 70 years old. Trump doesn't need this job for $ or prestige. Skylines in various states and countries are dotted with his building legacy.

And actually being President for 4-8 years means that much less time to spend with his family and grand children. Time is not on Trump's side.

No, I truly believe Trump is running because he's worried about America. It's a personal sacrifice for him.

You view Trump as far more altruistic than I do. That is a quality I have not seen in his life and work that generally is evident if a person possesses it.

POTUS has been a long held aspiration for Trump and he skillfully seized an opportunity. He talked about it on Oprah 25 years ago. He is ambitious and likes to achieve his goals and aspirations. He built his empire on that premise.

Probably Oprah thought about running for President 25 years ago, too. No doubt both Oprah and Trump were approached to consider running for President - 2 high profile successful individuals. But talking or thinking about it means nothing because neither pursued that idea in the past.

Trump was self-financed before he was nominated. That's a chunk of commitment, I'd say.

On the other hand Hillary has been bank rolled from the start by billionaires like George Soros and Tom Steyer. In fact tonight shadow banker, "Blackstone, the private equity giant, had scheduled a reception at the Barnes Foundation with its president, Hamilton E. James, one of the leading Wall Street contenders for an economic policy post in a future Clinton administration."

This campaign is not a personal sacrifice or labor of love by HildaBeast. It is for Trump.

Trump did it on budget too...he paid 43 cents per vote using the media to his advantage while Hillary paid 43 dollars per vote and had to steal votes from Bernie!
