Two police officers have been attacked with a machete by a man shouting 'Allahu Akbar' outside a police station in Belgium.
The cops, reportedly both female, were attacked in the city of Charleroi this afternoon. The attacker was shot in the chest and leg by a fellow officer and later died.
The attacker reportedly walked up to a checkpoint at the police station just before 4pm. He pulled a machete from his bag and slashed at the officer.
She sustained deep cuts to the face and was rushed to hospital. Her colleague was only slightly injured.
A police spokesman told a press conference: "It's a sad thing. Our hearts go out to the two cops involved.
"Our thoughts also go out to the officer who had to pull her gun. For her this is not easy."
