War, War, War See other War, War, War Articles Title: No Breakthrough for Peace in Syria No Breakthrough for Peace in Syria by Stephen Lendman Believing imperial America’s rage for war turned the page for peace in Syria is pure fantasy. Ignore reports suggesting otherwise, wishful thinking at best. So is imagining Washington intends responsibly cooperating with Russia toward achieving conflict resolution - its main adversary, heading for direct confrontation if Hillary succeeds Obama, the threat of nuclear war greater than any time since the atom was split - one giant leap backward for humanity, its survival at risk. The day after Lavrov/Kerry’s 11th hour deal on cessation of hostilities in Syria following marathon talks, fighting rages in multiple parts of the country. Heavily armed US-supported terrorists keep pouring across Turkey’s border, its troops seizing more northern Syrian territory than already held - with no intention of pulling back. It’s hard imagining how Washington intends carrying out joint strikes on terrorists it supports, ones Russia and pro-Syrian forces alone are combating, US warplanes terror-bombing government targets, infrastructure, hospitals and other civilian areas, massacring unknown numbers. US special forces and CIA operatives, along with their British and French counterparts continue actively aiding ISIS and other terrorists wage war on Syria, civilians harmed most, atrocities freely committed, including use of chemical weapons wrongfully blamed on Assad. Against this deplorable backdrop, US proxy aggression well into its sixth year, can anyone sensibly believe neocons infesting Washington abandoned regime change plans for peaceful conflict resolution? All post-9/11 wars rage endlessly, peace nowhere in sight in any US war theater. Things ahead look grimmer than currently. Anglo/Zionist responsibility for 9/11 intended the deplorable scenario unfolding in its aftermath with likely much worse ahead - unthinkable nuclear war, US provocations against Russia, China and Iran heading in this direction if nothing is done to stop it. Expect conflict in all US war theaters to continue, including Syria, escalating next year, increasing provocations against Russia, China and Iran leading to inevitable clashes. At risk is full-scale war erupting like nothing preceding it with super-weapons of mass destruction risking the end of life on earth. Preventing it is today’s major challenge. As long as neocon lunatics run Washington’s asylum, successfully defusing this time bomb looks unattainable. Disaster looms like never before. Heaven help us all. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
