Conservatism Is Not On The Ballot In November by Patrick Mankins Friday, September 16, 2016
Conservatism
Donald Trump is not a real conservative
At least according to Rush Limbaugh.
During his nationally broadcast show, Rush Limbaugh lamented that there wasnt a true conservative on the ballot in November.
Can someone point out to me the conservative on the ballot? What do you mean, Rush? Are you admitting Trumps not a conservative? Limbaugh asked himself. Damn right I am!
Folks, when did I ever say that he was?
This outrage by Rush and other conservatives has come after Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, released their education plan. Many have felt it too much like a handout and at odds with traditional conservative values.
Look I dont know how to tell you this, conservatism lost in the primaries
We had Cruz. We had Rubio.
The left, no matter how much they hate each other, they hate us more, and they unify.
They come together when its time to win, he said. When its time to beat us, they come together. We havent figured that out, and I dont know. A lot of people say, Well, yeah, Rush, thats because we got a lot of highly principled people who are not gonna sell out the just for the sake of winning. OK. To each his own. But I dont know what What do you want to do?
When is this going to stop? Its going to stop when you nominate a conservative, its going to stop when there is a conservative that can win elections.
Finally, Rush Limbaugh lamented, I wish conservatism was on the ballot.
