Russia Insider

Who knows barbarism better than an upper class Brit?

Nobody does the UN, or ziplines, quite like Boris Johnson.

He didn't quite get to speak at the actual Security Council meeting on Syria (guess Britannia no longer "rules the waves"), but he did find some reporters in the hallway to speak to, which technically makes it "Johnson's speech at the UN".

He told them:

"What is absolutely clear is that the Russians bear the moral responsibility for what is taking place," he told Channel 4 News.

"You have got aid convoys with UN markings on them being targeted, you have got medical facilities being blown up.

"This is not a civil war, this is a proxy war conducted by puppeteers and those puppeteers are principally in the Kremlin.

"They have an opportunity to bring an end to this. They could tell the Assad regime not to fly, not to bomb, to engage with the whole negotiation.

"Instead, I'm afraid you're seeing a cynical and barbaric protraction of violence and it is tragic."

Leave it to Boris to cut through the clutter and point out what's important. The sage of London brilliantly condensed the seemingly complicated war in Syria to four fundamental points:

1. We are the moral superiors of Russians.

2. West played no role in the Syrian conflict.

3. Assad should negotiate with the 70,000 Syria moderates.

4. Russians are barbarians.

Any questions?

Saint Jimmy • Some very significant events occurred during the late '90s that mostly went unreported by the press. Wall street was almost completely de-regulated and a few extremely wealthy corporations and individuals were granted carte blanche to begin buying up almost the entire US press, combined with the fact that television and radio began forcing their press operations to operate at a profit and discontinued funding them as a public good. Other significant, under-reported events occurred, such as the Clintons and the democratic party making the determination that they had to begin courting multi-national corporations, big banks, and globally wealthy elites. That new tactic delivered the democrats wholly into the hands of the same Big Money that had controlled republicans for a century and effectively turned the US into a one party state.

Sergey Tokarev/ Saint Jimmy • Three stages: 1) the USA was a democracy IMHO until 2) early 20th century, arrival of Edward Bernays and creation of Federal reserve. Since then till 2001 it was enlightened despotism, looking very much like democracy. 3) Since 2001 it is just despotism without enlightenment. (Yawn)

Saint Jimmy • I'm a US citizen and democracy is dead in my country. However, I cannot believe that the British have deteriorated so precipitously that they have also elected cheap, plastic, corrupt trash like this guy.

He shouldn't be within 100 miles of a government office. He should be in a f*ckin' carnival side show.

BobValdez/ Saint Jimmy • Jimmy, your country never HAD democracy. "democracy" is a bullshit word politicians use to cover up their crimes against their people and the people of other countries. +17

badbillybrookes /BobValdez • It used to have democracy, but Rothschild persistently worked his cancerous financially banking into America until it developed the Federal Reserve because civilians were accumulating too much wealth. When united states became a corporation, democracy was thrown out the window. +7

Saint Jimmy BobValdez • 21 hours ago I agree with that. Elections are a hollow, staged, and directed ritual. Wall Street and multi-nationals should just go ahead and hire a couple of decent stage or film directors.

I wrote the following earlier this morning in response to something else but it describes where I think we're at in the US:

The US is not a democracy and the constant stream of lies and propaganda for the corporate/war pig state coming from sources as diverse as truthout and the wall street journal and New York Times, etc., etc., ad nauseum, is further evidence that we are now a financial fascist dictatorship. The elites of both the democrat AND republican parties support Clinton.

Trump is the fake opposition necessary to complete the illusion of democracy presented to the ignorant peasant rubes. Ironically, I'm pretty sure that he now holds a significant lead over Clinton among the minority of peasants who will actually vote. That makes the elites nervous but not because Trump will win the election. They are nervous because his lead reflects growing unrest among the peasants and indicates that many of them are beginning to see through their lies and propaganda. Trump will not be allowed to win. Either the machines will be rigged, the Supreme Court will reprise their Bush, Jr. act, or both.

Most of the peasants, though, are still ignorant and brainwashed enough to accept the illusion as reality. As a result, the corporate/banker/war pig elites do not need to dispense with the now meaningless ritual of elections.

However, once most of the peasants see through the blatant lies about "democracy" and our vicious, Nazi-like foreign policy, the elections will cease. Justifications for not holding national elections will be given (i.e., Continuity is needed to guide us through this crisis/war/whatever.) but, should the peasants cause significant trouble, the crack down will make the beatings during occupy wall street look like a garden party.

Mr.Joe/ Saint Jimmy • You've lived in an oligarchy all your lives. There are no true democracies on this planet.+3

Neepchapper /Mr.Joe • Of course there isn't. Democracy isn't an ideology, it's the electoral process. A true democracy would render a country ungovernable. Every piece of legislation would require a Referendum. Bringing the country to a standstill with investors fleeing. The problem with the USA is that the word democracy along with lots of other words has been cheapened/rendered worthless by the Yanks persisting to use them out of context. Awesome and conspiracy for example.

Tatarewicz/ Neepchapper • Referendums on major issues work just fine for the Swiss.

TONY LANE I would also like to say that I am British and not too proud of being so, that Is why I have no politics no religion and no Patriotism, these are orders from which we can all manipulated from, and now you can add to that entertainment which will include sports, it is mainly used as a tool of disruption, to take our minds away from the things that really matter to us, although I wont say that was the reason for the witch hunt on the Olympics and the Paralympics, by both the Brits and the Americans against Russia which I thought disgraceful, because Russia was not the only country using drugs and nor was it the worst. but at the same time I do hope that Hillary is not made president, because alongside Poison Ivy Who Has become our PM, that together will become the real Ugly sisters, so who is going to be Snow White.

Yeah, it's real hard to sort out who is doing what to whom. It's unfortunate we don't have any credible sources on the ground there. That's because the 'powers' don't want anyone reporting on their activities and won't hesitate to 'remove' them.
