In 1992, when on the campaign trail with her husband, Clinton said she would crucify Gennifer Flowers, one of many women to have accused former President Bill Clinton of one sort of sexual misconduct or another, according to journalist Gail Sheehy, who was traveling with Clinton at the time. Flowers had released tapes phone conversations she had with her husband, and Clintons reaction explained her true character, reported The New York Times. It was a reaction of no surprise, but immediate anger and action, Sheehy wrote in an article published by Vanity Fair article that year. Not anger at Bill, but at Flowers, the press and Republicans. On a plane later that night, Clinton told Sheehy that if she were to question Flowers in front of a jury, I would crucify her. Thats a harsh threat coming from one of the leaders of the party that claims to consider inflammatory rhetoric threatening. It should be noted that Bill Clinton later admitted to having had sex with Flowers, two years after his marriage, during a deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case. Watch the Clintons discuss Bills accusers in a 60 Minutes interview in 1992: In 2010, Democrats excoriated Sarah Palin after she used a targeted graphic that they claimed led to the shooting of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. If the shooting of Giffords could be blamed on the use of inflammatory rhetoric, and if words themselves constitute violence, then a threat to crucify someone certainly falls under the category of hostile language. Clinton claims to fight for the rights of all women, especially those who are the most vulnerable and downtrodden, but it is a claim that reeks of hypocrisy as does just about everything else that comes out of her mouth.
