War, War, War See other War, War, War Articles Title: More Upcoming Futile Russia/US Talks on Syria More Upcoming Futile Russia/US Talks on Syria by Stephen Lendman Years of good faith Russian efforts to resolve conflict in Syria accomplished nothing because Washington wants war, regime change, and the Syrian Arab Republic transformed into another US vassal state. No amount of diplomacy will change things. On Wednesday, Vladimir Putin admitted the futility of “dialogue” with Washington, calling it “very difficult…almost” none at all. “(E)very time” it involves unacceptable US “dictate(s).” America rejects compromise, making resolution on important issues like Ukraine and Syria unattainable. Yet on October 12, Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced another round of talks on Syria this Saturday in Lausanne, Switzerland, saying: “According to the agreement between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry, the meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, the US and key regional states (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran) to consider possible additional steps to create conditions for the settlement of the Syrian crisis will take place…on October 15.” On October 3, Washington unilaterally suspended bilateral cooperation on Syria, irresponsibly blaming Moscow for its high crimes - together with rogue partners and terrorist foot soldiers. Saturday talks will accomplish nothing like all previous ones. Even when America agrees on things, breaches systematically follow, at times straightaway, the case in Syria. Expect greater deterioration of US/Russia relations with Hillary’s almost certain ascension to power next year. Will war between both countries follow? Washington’s reckless agenda is heading things dangerously toward unthinkable military confrontation neither side can win - assuring everyone loses. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
