FAA Warns Pilots: No Flying Parts of Montana on Saturday ROCKET LAUNCHES! The only rockets in Montana are NUCLEAR Missiles!
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restricting aircraft from certain areas of Montana on Saturday due to ROCKET LAUNCH ACTIVITY.
There are no missile test areas in Montana. There are no space launch facilities for NASA or any private space company. The ONLY rockets in Montana are United States Nuclear Missiles. The real ones. In silos.
Armed with Multiple Independant Re-Entry Vehicles (MIRV). Each missile is armed with at least eight of these MIRVs. Each MIRV is at least a 100 kiloton nuclear warhead. Each warhead can be targeted to a separate target. So each single rocket can wipe out eight cities anywhere on this planet, within 30 minutes of launch.
In the event that we actually ARE attacked , the video below may save your life.
It's possible that it's going to be a test launch, similar to what Russia did this past week of three ICBM's.

It's possible that it's going to be a test launch, similar to what Russia did this past week of three ICBM's.
Testing is usually perceived as a provocation. At least it was when North Korea was doing it recently. I guess it's one of those things the US is allowed to do but no one else.
Russia has successfully conducted three separate ballistic rocket launches. Two tests were carried out by Russian submarines from the Northern and Pacific fleets, while another intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk space center.
All of the tests were carried out as part of combat readiness drills and had successfully hit designated targets, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.

All rocket launches have NOTAMS issued, if in any case they might infringe on air traffic. Standard procedure.
Same as in bombing and gunnery ranges within and off shore to the US. We use to shoot and bomb for hours on end in restricted areas under NOTAM. Wander in there, you might get hurt.
If NOTAM came out restricting air space over New York, I might be concerned.
Cynicom: If NOTAM came out restricting air space over New York, I might be concerned.
Cynicom is apparently unaware that the only rockets in Montana are ICBMs.

It's the Butte, Montana Junior College Rocket Club launch day picnic!

ok i got the explination, a rocket club is out there firing homemade modle rockets that can reach altitudes of 50,000 feet
Phunnie!
While I was typing you posted, and we were on the same wave length!

Remember the Butte rocket explosion earlier in this decade? There has been a lot of rocket launches by Space Propulsion Group for years ... and they ain't of the nuclear species.

How many PUBLIC nuclear fallout shelters are there in the USA?
I don't know, and I'm not going to research it now, but in the early 60s when my dad was with the Soil Conservation Service (of all unlikely agencies) they were involved with outfitting the basement of our county courthouse with 55gal barrels of water and some sort of crackers for US to eat whenever we were nuked. After crawling from under our desks and making our way to the county courthouse.
Insanity, but that was the fearmongering going on then.

With the exception of Whites, the rule among the peoples of the world, whether residing in their homelands or settled in Western democracies, is ethnocentrism and moral particularism: they stick together and good means what is good for their ethnic group." -Alex Kurtagic
Years ago there was video of Von Braun and his early launches at Peenemünde. They were in their blockhouse watching a successful launch, however, it went straight up and straight down.
At that height, the cameras were exposed to at least -100F for well over ten seconds, and kept on rolling.
The rocket skin was first exposed to extreme heat due to air friction. I think I've seen that before somewhere, and the obstruction on the downward video was melted material from either the camera itself or the housing it was in.
The rocket speed was at least mach 1 if not much higher, so there was extreme G-forces in play as well.
"Amateur" rocketry these days deserves a new descriptor. It's serious business.

many but they are all woefully outta date. new braunfels tx has one at the new braunfels highschool. it is currently used for storage.
here in yankee plattsburgh ny(god help me) we have one at the old town hall building... at least i think thats what it was... buildin but the metal placard is on all four corners of the building. its unmistakable when you know what your looking at. that and it has fall out shelter written on it. but again its over 50 years old. and i seriously doubt its stocked... probably just another storage facility now.
its not impossible to survive a nuke. but we aint prepared so our chances are slim should shit go south.
