Armed group of former police and military officers take the law into their own hands to keep Mexican migrants out of the US Arizona Border Recon formed in 2011 and patrols the state's roughly 300 mile-long border with Mexico
Its members are mostly former police or military men and women who volunteered to take part
They carry AR-15 rifles, dress in camouflage and adhere to a strict set of rules and policies
Unassigned to any government agency, their work is to pass along intelligence gained from operations
