Should anyone care? This years staged spectacles wont determine Novembers outcome - not with things looking rigged for Hillary, Trump losing out before the first vote is cast, a clear example of fantasy US democracy. Postmortems are prepared before each staged event - pre-scripted made-for-television spectacles, not what debating is supposed to be all about. Commenting on US electoral politics, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called this years presidential campaign a catastrophe, a global shame, - Hillary disgracefully using Russia as a punching bag to score political points. Her campaign and scoundrel media echo chamber constantly say Russia is carrying out cyberattacks on certain US facilities. No credible evidence proves it because none exists. Fabricated accusations are a smokescreen to divert attention from Hillarys deplorable public record, along with avoiding discussion of serious domestic and geopolitical issues. Ahead of Wednesday nights encounter, the pro-Hillary New York Times presented a one-sided report - a litany of anti-Trump pejoratives contrasted with praising a woman demanding condemnation. Heres a snapshot: The Times: Facing accusations of sexual harassment and criticism for vulgar and demeaning comments toward women, Mr. Trump limps into Wednesdays debate
Fact: The Times failed to explain he categorically denies accusations of sexually abusing women. The Times: Mr. Trump appears less intent on finding a path to victory than on grasping for scapegoats to explain away an eventual loss. Fact: Its hard imagining he entered the race without intending an all-out effort for victory. Why else would he spend many months away his business, leaving it to others to fill in for him. The Times: Mr. Trump is already the most disliked presidential nominee in the history of polling
Fact: He and Hillary share the dubious distinction, both more widely reviled than any previous US presidential aspirants. The Times: Another slashing performance against Mrs. Clinton could push away even more undecided voters. Fact: Slash away, Donald. Hillarys crimes offer plenty of red meat for justifiable bashing. The Times: Because Mrs. Clinton is now so heavily favored to win, the debate offers an opportunity for her to start looking beyond the election and toward unifying a country that has been divided by an ugly campaign. Fact: Another Bill and Hillary co-presidency should terrify everyone, especially with her as commander-in-chief of Americas military, empowering her to wage war on humanity like never before - the threat of nuclear mass destruction greater than ever. The Times: WikiLeaks revelations of Hillarys deplorable private v. public persona show she is a cautious, at times plotting left-of-center Democrat given more to pragmatism than purity. Fact: What rubbish! Shes hard core neocon, a Democrat in name only, a supporter of neoliberal harshness, an emotionally unstable war goddess threatening humanity if empowered as US president.
