The US may have committed war crimes of torture, cruel treatment and rape, when it interrogate dozens of people in Afghanistan between 2003 and 2014, the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor said.

The International Criminal Court's preliminary probe of the US armed forces and CIA activities in Afghanistan between 2003 and 2004 shows there to be a “reasonable basis to believe that, in the course of interrogating these detainees … members of the US armed forces and the US Central Intelligence Agency resorted to techniques amounting to the commission of the war crimes of torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity, and rape,” chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said, according to the AFP.

Between May 2003 and the end of 2014 in Afghanistan, at least 61 detained persons "appear" to have been subjected to torture, cruelty and "outrages upon personal dignity," while under control of US armed forces, the report says.

The report found that the CIA subjected "at least 27 detained persons" to rape, torture, cruelty or outrages upon personal dignity, while in Afghanistan "and other States Parties to the Statute (namely Poland, Romania and Lithuania) between December 2002 and March 2008." Most of the alleged abuses took place between 2003 and 2004, the report finds.

Should formal charges be filed, Washington may be found in violation of several "war crimes" provisions of Article 8 of the ICC Rome Statute.

It stressed that in nearly 200 cases, investigations of detainee abuse allegations resulted “non-judicial punishment or adverse administrative action,” while many more ensued action at a lower level.

In December 2014, the US Senate issued the so-called “torture report,” which revealed that CIA officials lied to the government and public about its post-9/11 torture program, most notably by distorting intelligence gleaned from traditional interrogations as that attained by far more brutal methods.

The ICC is looking into a total of 1,390 victim accounts it received from the NGO European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) and Public Interest Lawyers (PIL). It appeared that 1,071 of those accounts related to alleged ill-treatment of detainees, and another 319 suggested alleged “unlawful killings” committed by the British personnel in Iraq between 2003-2008.

“According to PIL, British personnel committed 319 cases of unlawful killings out of which 267 were committed in the course of military operations other than arrest and detention, and 52 were committed against persons in custody of UK authorities,” the ICC said.

International investigators highlighted more than 25 of the most frequently reported methods of abuse, supposedly executed through more than 140 means, including beatings, sexual violence, deprivation of sleep and water, forced feeding and waterboarding.

“The alleged victims were typically male, with 70% of them aged between 18 to 34 years and 44 under the age of 18 at the time of the arrest and/or detention,” Bensouda unveiled in the report.

In her annual “Report on Preliminary Examination Activities,” the ICC’s chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda covers investigations being conducted on UK officials’ alleged “responsibility for war crimes” in Iraq between 2003 and 2008, as well as on situations in Ukraine and Palestine.

I cut the tag off a mattress in 2003, much to the consternation of the global warming crowd. I guess I'm on my own now, hope to meet y'all in the camps. I'll bring spinach and onions, pine nuts if I remember.

Worst rape photos of Iraqi women detainees not yet officially released

August 25, 2006

Los Angeles, Alta California (ACN) The new photographs released today of the depraved sexual abuse of Iraqi POW’s by the US Military Police on orders of CIA and Israeli operatives at the Abu Ghraib prison still do not show the worst of the war crimes. The photographs so far officially released are, without exception, only of male Iraqi prisoners of war. According to returning Mexican-American soldiers and staff members of Congressmen who have viewed the videos and photographs in private sessions, there are far more shocking photographs that have not been released to the public. Senator Richard J. Durbin himself said “There were some awful scenes. It felt like you were descending into one of the rings of hell, and sadly it was our own creation”. Other members of Congress said, after viewing the images, that they included Iraqi women exposing their breasts and other private parts. Congressman Martin T. Meehan said, ”I was obviously shocked and horrified to discover that the new photos are even more gruesome than those we have seen in the media. Some of the pictures and videos show actual intercourse between male and female soldiers.” In addition, the May 10-17 issue of Newsweek said that yet-unreleased Abu Ghraib abuse photos “include an American soldier having sex with a female Iraqi detainee and American soldiers watching Iraqis have sex with juveniles.”

What also has not been revealed to the American public is that the sexual humiliation of Islamic prisoners and rape of women detainees is actually an Israeli Jewish practice used by the Zionists against the Palestinians. These interrogation techniques were taught by Israeli operatives to the CIA and Military Police at the Abu Ghraib prison and in fact these operatives participated directly in the torture at Abu Ghraib under cover of “private consultants”. It is believed that at least three known Israeli MOSSAD agents where at Abu Ghraib directing the torture as “interrogators” in the service of Pentagon “contractors”. Recently, a Palestinian female freed from Israeli detention said more than 15 fellow Palestinian women were raped by Israeli interrogators to force them to confess to charges leveled against them and collaborate with the Israeli intelligence.

“Israeli investigators and intelligence officers keep video tapes of the raping to blackmail the female detainees,” she told an Islamic news service, requesting anonymity.

“I have been sexually abused and photographed. When I tried to travel to Jordan after my release an Israeli intelligence officer blackmailed me with the humiliating photos,” she said. She asserted that these techniques have been used for years by the Israeli interrogators against Palestinian detainees. “They have used these raping techniques before my detention and continue to use it until today,” said the Palestinian woman who spent nine years of her life in Israeli detention. She asserted that Palestinian women shy away from reporting such “disgrace” due to the sensitivity of the conservative Palestinian community. The Israelis also, she added, threaten to widely circulate the rape images if any of us take our complains to the public or the press.

“It appears that the U.S. sexual abuse of the Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison is simply a replica of a long-running Israeli practice. Israeli interrogators have more than 25 different torture techniques to extract confessions from Palestinian detainees”, said a Palestinian. He added, “The nudity technique used by the Americans against Iraqi detainees is a long time Israeli favorite but unfortunately pictures never surfaced to expose the barbarism and brutality of a country bragging about being an oasis of democracy.” At least seven thousands Palestinians, including scores of women, are held by Israeli occupation forces in detention centers and jails.

On May 12, 2004 an Iraqi female professor revealed that U.S. soldiers in Iraq have raped, sexually humiliated and abused several Iraqi female detainees in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison. Professor Huda Shaker, a political scientist at Baghdad University, said an Iraqi young girl was raped by a U.S. military policeman and became pregnant.

Professor Shaker, an Amnesty International researcher, said she knows of other Iraqi females that were arrested, taken to Abu Ghraib prison and raped by the US Military Police. “Iraqi women here are afraid and shy of talking about such subjects,” Professor Shaker said. Few women released from U.S. detention have come forward to talk about their experiences in a Muslim society where rape is sometimes equated with shame.

US Senator Ernest Hollings recently said that Bush launched the war against Iraq on behalf of Isreal and to appease US Jews. The Zionist participation in the Abu Ghraib sexual torture scandal proves that Jews are participating in the war directly and in the best way they know how . . . covertly! http://aztlan.net/worst_photos_not_released.htm
