The Los Angeles City Attorney's office has participated in an orgy of anti "hate crime" tweets, noting that "LAPD'S JOB IS NOT DEPORTATION!" and assuring victims of "verbal abuse" and "bullying" that they will not be deported and that the perpetrators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. "You don't have to be hit for it to be hate!" read their graphic in both English and Spanish, followed by a litany of thought crimes which evil racist people can assault them with, noting repeatedly that such hate crimes have skyrocketed since the presidential election.
City Attorney Mike Feuer, along with LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and other officials held a somber press conference the day before Thanksgiving just to address this issue. They invoked the Southern Poverty Law Center's (SPLC) report, claiming that there have been over 400 hate crimes reported since the election.
Here are some of the tweets from the L.A. City Attorney, followed by his press release.
