RI...

Press spokesman Dimitri Peskov said today an application from the former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury would be considered

Well, talk about cutting through the red tape.

Just hours after RI republished a letter from top alternative media columnist Paul Craig Roberts asking President Putin for a Russian passport, the Russian president's press spokesman has responded:

The Kremlin is ready to consider the issue of granting the Russian citizenship to Paul Craig Roberts, former US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy, if he were to file a corresponding application, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.

Earlier this week, Roberts asked Russian President Vladimir Putin in an open letter for a Russian passport. The official reminded that Putin had granted citizenship to Steven Seagal, expressing hope that "being a Russian agent is as important as teaching martial arts to Russians." "A corresponding application needs to be filed in order to receive citizenship. It will be considered if it is filed," Peskov told RIA Novosti.

We guess that Roberts wasn't serious, but it looks like the Kremlin sure is.

Dr. Roberts published the letter on his own website on the 28th, without receiving an official response.

There is no word yet on Roberts' requested diplomatic appointment, but we presume the naturalization process has to be completed first. Legalities, you know.

Please forward your future citizenship request letters to Russia Insider, in order to expedite access to President Putin's desk.

And can you believe the MSM accuses us of publishing "fake news?"

John Unhinged Menelion • For ordinary folk you are required to have a 1000 word vocabulary in Russian, be able to hold a normal conversation and have a thorough knowledge of Russian history to be considered (moving to Russia),

Considering you can get by on US$10 dollars a week in most rural areas of Russia you don't actually need much money to go there, so poverty is no excuse!

teddyfromcd John Unhinged • under the to be expected still currencymatters in the world..this is probably true.

before i visited russia last june-july in st petersburg -- i studied a bit the ''living costs" - and true enough -- very straightforward when you check prices

for rooms, for apartment, for loaf of bread, for public transport, u know daily needs..depending on location --they are THAT cheap compared to ''dollar" .

for me -- being poor and no possessions at all - not even savings..when i applied for ''cultural tourist' visa at the embassy just a WEEK BEFORE my already booked flight and already booked 2 weeks in hotel (required to show during application) ..

which the immigration officer said ""oh -- you are supposed to be there in this music event next MONDAY? -- we have to hurry this up - come back on thursday to pick up your passport" - and that was the monday i applied - just a week before my flight.

and then of course to check a bank account - for legitimacy , residence, etc..-- since the bank statement showed i had a few thousands still - i think it was then about 6 thousands at that time...in dollars...

he remarked "oh -- tha'ts a LOT of money" ..meaning -- to RUSSIANS even at today's realities -- when they DO translate that in rubles they KNOW it is a lot of money even if in NYC that's nothing.

you check their COLLEGE, university education - in the most EXPENSIVE public system part - and the cost , if you pay from your own pocket - nothing more than 2,000 dollars per semester really..what is that in the USA? NOTHING.

ROUGHLY calculating -= depending on location -- and the most expensive are ST PETERSBURG AND MOSCOW -- people there survive and live pretty decently on what?

10,000 dollars a year? - maybe even less in smaller cities? what is that in the USA? THAT'S just food and electricity - ...so -- to ME - roughly --a person who can prove

ability in russian language and history and customes and serious interest in contributing to russia and BEING russian -

plus ability to support oneself and work productively without dependence on the state -

and perhaps even 'savings or investment" left over - but even if not -- someone who hs those qualifications and not 'diseased" - ought to at least have a SLIM chance. unlike trying to apply to the USA - or canada and show you have to have 50,000 dollars in the bank for 'EXTRA" ONLY..or even 100,000 Dollars worth as 'investor class" to be granted some kind of residence . outside of a job application by a domestic company.

donhank • President Putin: PLEASE consider me for Russian citizenship. I have written positively about Russia for years at my site: laiglesforum.com, where you can find contact information for me. I have a Master's degree in Russian language and literature. Thank you and God bless!

Peter Paul 1950 donhank • Thanks again for the link to rt. Just had a look at your forum and cast an eye on some of your writing. Very intriguing I must add. There are a lot of nice dots you're connecting that go beyond the ordinary news. So you're bookmarked now.. cheers

Having a tent and normal sleeping bag was not good enough? Without heating it will be icy cold, and you cannot make fireworks in a small tent. Of course Stalin burned down the houses. Napoleon learned same lesson. Few survived the march from Moscow.

Pantpurlais cold340t • See the map I posted for Kjell. A big chunk of North America is very similar to Russia in terms of climate.
