How do I save a long Flash video to disk? I want to be able to show it later where there is no Internet access.

I've tried ID'ing the temp file in my Opera cache but it disappears as soon as the video ends. Likewise upping the local storage option in the Flash settings creates a different .tmp file, but it too disappears as soon as the video ends. The actual file itself is called from a php script, so I can't ID it from the file name in the html source.

Any wizards here who can help me out?

Thanks for your help. It wasn't the echo chamber site I was trying to save. That was just a joke about "my empty head". heh

I'm trying to save one of the 911 flash videos. I don't know how to mirror a site. Is that possible with Opera?

Might be a bit of work on your part, but try downloading this prog.

I've never used it, so I can't help beyond that.

Thanks. Not sure I'm going to go for $40 shareware, especially since the site si relatively new.

It's shareware, so they'll probably let you use it on an evaluation basis for a limited time, long enough to learn to use it and rip what you need to rip...so you don't have to pay.

If you're familiar with bitTorrent, you can find a "cracked" copy here. ;)

You can try mirroring the site (hopefully capturing a copy of the Flash video) with Httrack.

There doesn't appear to be a address for a direct link to the Flash video.

Maybe the .swf is protected so copies can't be ripped. Try playing around with WebRipper's D/L preferences and see if you have any luck with it.

Thanks guys. I'll try the Flash Saving Plugin another time. I found the producer's web site where he's selling it on DVD (free except for shipping and handling) and decided to pay him the 5 bucks for his efforts.
