War, War, War See other War, War, War Articles Title: NYT Fake News on Aleppo NYT Fake News on Aleppo by Stephen Lendman Daily NYT editions read like bad fiction, showing contemptible disregard for truth-telling, entirely absent where its most needed - fake news substituting. Coverage of Americas presidential campaign turned The Times into a laughing stock, featuring advocacy instead of unbiased reporting. The so-called newspaper of record is a national disgrace, notably when America goes to war or plans one, supporting imperial aggression instead of denouncing it. Its Syrian war coverage is abominable - all fake news all the time, including the just concluded battle for Aleppo. On December 13, it headlined Assads Lesson From Aleppo: Force Works, With Few Consequences, saying: For months, the bodies have been piling up in eastern Aleppo as the buildings have come down, pulverized by Syrian and Russian jets, burying residents who could not flee in avalanches of bricks and mortar. Fact: Russian and Syrian jets suspended bombing eastern Aleppo in mid-October. No bodies have been piling up in streets, ICRC representatives on the ground confirming it. The Times: Cold, hungry and scarred by the deaths of loved ones, tens of thousands of civilians and fighters are awaiting buses to take them from their homes to uncertain futures. Fact: Evacuation of all eastern Aleppo residents was completed on Friday. Theyre safe for the first time in four-and-a-half years - given hot food and medical care as needed, grateful to Syrian forces for freeing them from captivity, held under brutalizing conditions as human shields by US- supported terrorists. The Times: This is the Middle East that President-elect Donald J. Trump will face upon taking office next year, a region where jihadists have erased borders, Russia is ascendant, Iran has extended its reach through powerful militias and American allies are questioning how much they can rely on Washington. Fact: America created and supports jihadists in Syria and elsewhere. Russia, Iran and Hezbollah intervened responsibly to combat them, at Assads request. Wherever Washington shows up, mass slaughter, destruction and unspeakable human misery follow. It remains to be seen if Trump intends another way, or whether hell continue imperial madness. The Times: The siege and bombardment of Aleppo
came after years of conflict in which Mr. Assads forces attacked protesters, dropped exploding barrels on rebellious communities and used chemical weapons on their own people. Fact: What rubbish! Liberating Aleppo involved a carefully planned military operation, waged against the scourge of US-supported terrorists - monsters responsible for gruesome atrocities, including cold-blooded murder, torture and use of chemical weapons. Syria destroyed its CW stockpile under supervision of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons representatives. No evidence links its forces with their use. Claims otherwise are fake news. The Times: The Syrian conflict did not begin as a civil war but as a popular uprising aimed at ousting Mr. Assad. He responded to protests with gunfire, detentions and torture. Many in the opposition took up arms to defend themselves and fight back
Fact: Syria is Obamas war, orchestrated by Hillary Clinton as secretary of state, naked aggression against a sovereign independent country threatening no one. A so-called popular uprising was staged, orchestrated in Washington, a pretext to launch naked aggression. No civil war exists, imported death squads used as imperial foot soldiers. The Times is an instrument of state-sponsored propaganda - featuring fake news instead of the real thing. Abandon it or stay misinformed. The goes for all media scoundrels.
