Today, working in my store Charlie came in. He said he had been arrested earlier. I had a hard time imagining why Charlie would be arrested. He said he was in a Tavern, the TV was showing the strife and violence in Iraq, and he made the public comment that "Iraq was better off under Saddam". Some brownshirt called the cops and the Colorado Springs, Colorado Police arrested him and charged him with, get this, SEDITION!!
I've known the guy forever, he's NOT making it up. He was pretty disturbed by it.
This proves the saying "Telling the truth in a crazy society is a revolutionary act" or something to that effect.
He was questioned for an hour, then the charges were dropped.
It dosn't matter - the fascists are amoungst us. And the message was sent, backed by the "legitiment use of violence by the authorities".
Then Keith, a long haired rock and roller came in, and I told him what occured to the old man that had just left.
He replied "Good".
