Earlier as Obamas chief Russia advisor, he disgracefully accused Moscow of disrupt(ing) the international order, adding theyre the hegemon in that region able to do it. He ludicrously blamed Putin for Brexit, tweeting (s)hocked by Brexit vote! Losers: EU, UK, US, those that believe in unity of a strong, united, democratic (sic) Europe. Winners: Putin. I genuinely complement Putin for his victory tonight on Brexit. Tonight is a giant victory for Putins foreign policy objectives. Astonishing comments - out of line, irresponsible, offensive and plain wrong! Whatever his personal views, Putin, of course, had nothing to do with Brexit voting. At the time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the vote a purely intra-British and intra-EU problem. Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said (w)e have already got(ten) accustomed to the Russian factor (as) one of persistent tools in the US election campaign. But (its) use or (injecting) President Putin in the Brexit issue is new for us. McFaul was militantly hostile to Russia before, during and after his time as US ambassador. He lied claiming Putin annexed Crimea, adding hes undermining Ukraines economy. He urged Western intervention to counter its entirely legal activities. Russia wishes to scare its neighbors, he blustered. According to Institute of US and Canada Studies deputy director Valery Garbuzov, McFaul caters to the interests of Americas ruling class, supports their imperial agenda, urges containment of Russia while risking direct confrontation. A right-wing Hoover Institute member, hes continuing his old tricks - this time accusing Trump of allying with Russia to trash Americans. On Friday, he twittered (w)hy is Trump so militantly against an investigation into Putins meddling in our elections? What does he have to hide? This love fest is odd. He lied calling credible RT and Sputnik News foreign agents. He lied saying (w)e know that Russian-government-controlled media outlets such as RT and Sputnik campaigned openly for one candidate, Donald Trump. Russias Foreign Ministry banned him from entering the country for inciting hostile bilateral relations with America. A separate Russian Foreign Ministry statement blasted Washington, saying (i)t has long been noticed that, under the current administration, Washington in its pursuit to shift power in Syria is ready to help any destructive forces. Its protecting (the) Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group that is none other but a subdivision of al- Qaeda, which has committed the most horrible terrorist acts in the history of the US. It seems that the White House has forgotten that, under the US law, aiding terrorism is a criminal offense. McFaul is part of the problem, not the solution - a longtime rogue figure, part of Americas neocon lunatic fringe. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago. He can be reached at lendmanstephen@sbcglobal.net. Why do you think that he's an ex-ambassador?
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
