The accusation was fabricated, an attempt to delegitimize Trumps election, along with persistent efforts to vilify Russia, perhaps more disgracefully than any time during the Cold War years. Everything thrown at this issue to make it stick failed to make the case - from the Obama administration, Congress, talking heads and media scoundrels. According to a mid-December POLITICO/Morning Consult poll, over two-thirds of Americans disbelieve the Russia hacking story. Only 29% claim to know with near certainty that Russia (was) responsible for hacking DNC and John Podesta emails. The disinformation campaign failed yet continues to the disgrace of government and media scoundrels pushing it. Virtually everything from these sources on issues mattering most is fake news. CNN laughably calls itself the most trusted name in news. Its a cesspool of misinformation, distortions and Big Lies. On January 2, it used a Fallout 4 video game image to show what nonexistent Russian hacking looks like. After Reddit users exposed the hoax, it substituted an image of Obama - not before a screenshot of the fake image went viral. During the 2015-16 political season, CNN was called the Clinton News Network for good reason, providing months of one-sided election coverage, vilifying Trump relentlessly like most other media scoundrels - featuring presstitution, not legitimate journalism the way its supposed to be. An early in the week intelligence briefing for Trump was postponed. In response, he tweeted (t)he Intelligence briefing on so-called Russian hacking was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange! On New Years eve, he said I just want them to be sure because its a pretty serious charge. If you look at the weapons of mass destruction (accusation against Saddam), that was a disaster, and they were wrong. Separately, incoming White House communications director Sean Spicer stressed zero evidence exists to prove Russian hacking. After publishing a fake news story about Russia hacking a Vermont utility, the neocon Washington Post admitted its account was false. Interviewed by Sean Hannity on Fox News, WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange debunked the notion of Russian US election hacking - explaining his source wasnt from Russia or any other state party. No hacking occurred. Information was leaked by one or more Democrat party insiders, upset over Hillary stealing, not earning, her nomination. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
