Legal immigrants are pushing back against the declaration of the Los Angeles suburb of Cudahy as a sanctuary city and fighting the notion that Trump supporters are white supremacists.
Los Angeles native Harim Uziel was among about two dozen locals, including many legal immigrants, who gave the Cudahy city council a piece of their mind about a promise to defy federal immigration laws to protect illegal residents, Fox 11 reports.
I voted for our president, Mr. Trump, and I stand right behind him, he said. And you guys better get your act together, because you know what, I might take your place over there. We have people who are running for office. You guys think youre safe behind there, but guess what? Were a movement and we are growing.
There are a lot of homies that were gang members and now they have families and they are hard-working Americans and they are coming out to the rallies with us, and theyre coming out to the counter protests, and theyre standing up, Uziel said. Were standing up.
