NYT Hypocrisy

by Stephen Lendman

In a Tuesday editorial, Times editors criticized Trump for calling Egyptian despot Abdel Fattah el- Sisi (a US War College graduate) a “fantastic guy,” ignoring his coup d’etat regime, reigning terror against Muslim Brotherhood members and other opponents.

The Times selectively picks nations and leaders to criticize, ignoring ones most important to target - America and Israel most of all, the world’s two leading human rights abusers.

The self-styled newspaper of record ignores their high crimes. Try finding a single Times report denouncing US aggression in multiple theaters.

Nothing about replacing democracy with fascist thugs in Ukraine. Silence about Israeli apartheid worse than South Africa’s.

Nothing explained about creating and supporting ISIS and other terrorist groups, using them as imperial foot soldiers, waging phony war against them in Syria and Iraq.

High crimes committed by the Clintons, Bush/Cheney and Obama are ignored - at home and abroad.

No Times reports explain US plans for replacing all sovereign independent governments with US vassal states, or wanting control over the world’s resources and establishing ruler/serf societies everywhere.

Instead of denouncing US wars of aggression, The Times supports them, pretending their goal is liberation, ignoring their imperial aim.

It praises NATO’s killing machine, its war on humanity, militarized America, its inner city communities turned into battlegrounds.

It favors the world made safe for monied interests at the expense of popular ones. Its editors, correspondents and contributors are press agents for wealth, power and privilege.

They’re silent about an array of despots Washington supports, Egypt’s Sisi one of many. Others include Israel’s ruthless regime, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, numerous other rogue states on every continent.

Times editors: “…Washington should not make any more concessions without real reforms in Egypt’s approach to human rights and governance.”

Times editors should focus on homegrown abuses most of all - far worse than anything going on elsewhere.
