The Viktor Leonov was spotted just south of the US Navy's submarine base at King's Bay, Georgia, heading north.
The Leonov, which was a key vessel in Russia's Cold War strategy, the 300 ft ship can intercept radar, radio and other electronic signals.
US president Donald Trump hit back at the ship's location, and stated his wish to sink it.

Zharkov... It's Trump being funny - his way of saying there is nothing he can do about the spy ship. Sort of similar to President Reagan saying that the bombing of the evil empire beings in 5 minutes. “The greatest thing I could do is shoot that ship” - means "the most I could do is to shoot the ship and I can't do that."
