The area is called “Al-Wa’er”, a word which connotes rugged terrain. There are about 1,400 to –1,500 armed rodents still in the western enclave. They want to take their light weapons with them and be guaranteed safe passage to Idlib Province or northern Aleppo, specifically, the city of Jaraablus which is occupied by the inept and completely clueless Turk army. The Syrian government rejected the Jaraablus option since that would mean the terrorists would be enlisted in the service of Erdoghan’s military as part of his laughably named “Shield of the Euphrates”, a euphemism for an attempted Turk annexation of parts of northern Syria. The first tranche of terrorist vultures has left in the now-laureled “Green Buses” for Idlib accompanied by the Islamic Red Crescent Society, Syrian and Russian military police. There will be another load of vultures in 2 weeks. Many of the armed terrorists have chosen to take their families with them. Many others have opted for amnesty. Whatever the case, the city is now 98% rat-free and completely under the control of the Syrian government. Despite the fact that we here dislike him, Erdogan is indeed very popular in Turkey. Especially amongst the up-till-recently silent conservative Anatolian Muslim majority. I can elaborate why, but he represents their values and beliefs, they relate to him as a man of the people, and as a strong leader, a straight-talker like Trump and also the alernatives, Bahceli and Kilicdaroglu, two opposition leaders are seen as useless. However the 20-30% of hardcore secularists, Kemalists hate Erdogan just as the 30% of liberals in the US hate Trump. Erdogan is akin to an Istanbul bazaar trader who always tries to get the best bargain for himself. Sometimes he plays brinksmanship in order to get the best deal and sometimes he does in fact get slapped, but humility isn’t a big part of his character. Israhell will not be able to touch the Syrian air defence system as a nuclear power, Russia, has parked in Syria and got the country on lock down. It would be a direct affront to this nuclear power if the whole world saw their air defence system didn’t work. The whole world would laugh at Russia’s impotency and it would even undermine Russian arms sales. +14 FHTEX Muslim Dude, there is a risk to Russia if it’s air defense system didn’t work, but it would be a bigger risk to the West if it DID work. The confidence in Western military power would crumble immediately. Please remember that in the Mideast wars, Syrian air defenses shot down a large portion of Israel’s air force, just the U.S. took huge air losses in Vietnam. Since then, the U.S. and the West have gone through one, maybe two new generations of fighter aircraft, while anti-air ground systems have gone through several generations. It’s sort of like two heavyweight lawyers in a courtroom–despite their bluster, they in the end really don’t want to go to trial knowing the outcome is uncertain. FHTEX Erdogan is a Turkish nationalist and a meglomaniac, so the rapprochement with Russia will take time, like changing course for a large ship in the ocean. But, with his latest threats against Europe, Erdogan has basically cut his ties to Europe and there is probably no return. So, he has to go somewhere. Putin is a master chess player and can seize the advantage quickly but is also capable of playing a strategic match, many moves ahead. In Erdogan’s case, he is slowly bringing him into the orbit, while the petulant West basically bullies people who do not prostrate themselves before it, and that is only pushing Erdogan further away. The problem for the West is that it used Turkey as a stepping-stone into the control of the Middle East ever since WWI, but Turkey is also a stepping stone FROM the Middle East and its Islamist fanaticism to Europe and it has the power to help in the demographic transformation/destruction of existing European society. I don’t think you are giving Trump enough credit. It is clear he and Tillerson admire Putin and wants to work with him, but he has to be careful to on the surface at lest not seem overly collegial with the Russians. In time, all of the “investigations” of his Russian connections will wind down and he’ll be more free to maneuver. FHTEX LTW, I’m glad you point out that Israel has no ability to shoot down Syrian air defenses without paying a massive price. It could all be a feint to try to draw the U.S. into a wider war, but as much as Trump outwardly favors Israel, he fears U,S, involvement in another failed Mideast war even more, especially with Russian troops on the ground.. That would completely sink his presidency. I basically agree that it’s probably nothing but bluster. LTW FHTEX, operating in Syria will be a vastly different operational experience for the zio-criminals than say Gaza, Syria is 72,000 sq. miles or roughly 1 1/2 times the size of england, the operational radius of an F16 is only 400 miles which gives the pilot only about 20 minutes to find and attack his target , even with the large central extra fuel tank attached the F 16 is still hampered because of reduced speed and maneuverability. Don’t forget that in the 73 war Syria wiped out their airforce quickly to the point that Kissinger had to kick Nixon in the ass to Rush planes and pilots to Zion. With the Current generations of modern missile technology i foresee the same especially that t he F16 is still a 1970’s era fighter and were not designed as a primary bomber no matter how much the “jews ‘ try to supe them up. The F15’s on the other hand is an ok platform , but is very big and very heavy , making radar detection very easy.
