Republican Senator hawks quickly praised President Donald Trump for ordering a strike in Syria last night in retaliation for the chemical weapons attack ordered by dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator John McCain, two of the biggest critics of President Barack Obama’s failure to act in Syria, issued a joint statement in favor of Trump’s decision.

“Unlike the previous administration, President Trump confronted a pivotal moment in Syria and took action,” they said. “For that, he deserves the support of the American people.”

McCain and Graham urged Trump to consider further action, calling for a strategy to take out Assad’s Air Force, the establishment of safe zones, and supporting Syrian rebels.

“Building on tonight’s credible first step, we must finally learn the lessons of history and ensure that tactical success leads to strategic progress,” he said.

Senator Marco Rubio also supported the action.

“By acting decisively against the very facility from which Assad launched his murderous chemical weapons attack, President Trump has made it clear to Assad and those who empower him that the days of committing war crimes with impunity are over,” he said in a statement.

Rubio wrote on Twitter that Trump was “deeply moved” by the images of children suffering the effects of the chemical weapon attack.

“Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished,” he wrote, quoting Proverbs 11:21.

Senator Tom Cotton issued a statement of support as well.

“I commend President Trump for taking swift, decisive action against Bashar al-Assad’s outlaw regime,” he said. “Any country that violates arms-control agreements with the U.S., develops illicit chemical- or nuclear-weapons programs, or supports those countries that do ought to take note.”

Well, my support of Trump lasted from about late September 2016 to March of 2017. Turns out that all of my doubts about him were correct. He's Hillary Clinton without the pantsuit. He talked a good game, but turns out he's just another bullshitter, and a not very bright one at that.

I guess it doesn't matter a lot. Hillary would have done the same thing and probably earlier, but that's little consolation. Fuck fuck fuck. What terrible news to hear this morning.

===========================================

Following Trump's changing trend, one cannot help but noticed it became much more pronounced very soon after Trump gave his daughter her own office in the White House, and Trump sent his son-in-law to Iraq.

These are glaring and timely circumstances that cannot be overlooked.

Both of those (daughter and son-in-law) bear very close watching. Both are liberals, and the son-in-law only changed from the Dim party last year.

Way 2 obvious.

David Ignatius: President Trump Has Restored America’s Credibility Abroad

April 7, 2017
11:44 am

The Washington Post’s David Ignatius said that he thought President Trump’s strike on the Syrian airbase responsible for launching chemical weapons attacks had restored American credibility abroad during a panel discussion on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Friday morning.

“I think [President Trump] found the consequences of embracing Assad…just too horrifying. I thought the president was sincere in saying, looking at those photographs of the little children choking to death as they died was abhorrent,” Ignatius told the panel.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked Ignatius to explain the difference between the first time Syrian President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons and the second time.

“Joe, we’ve had in the last four years a lesson in the credibility of what American power is,” Ignatius told Scarborough.

Ignatius then explained how President Obama’s drawing a red line in Syria and not enforcing it had damaged American credibility abroad.

“Donald Trump has restored the credibility of American power,” Ignatius said of Trump’s Thursday night order.

The political arena isn't the only one buzzing with reaction to the U.S. missile strike in Syria.  Some members of the faith community are taking to the media with their opinions as well.

Charisma News reported on some of the reactions from the faith community to U.S. President Donald Trump's order for two U.S. Navy destroyers to launch nearly 60 cruise missiles at a Syrian Air Force base. Some of these leaders commented on the future of America and Christians after this attack. Below are some of the comments reporter:

While we at the NHCLC are extremely reluctant to endorse the use of America's military might to solve international disputes, the revelation that Bashar al-Assad's has used chemical weapons against his own people represents an especially horrific case and one that demands an international response. We therefore support this strategic and targeted military action taken by the Trump Administration.

The world community cannot sit idly by while brutal dictators like Bashar al-Assad are allowed to terrorize their own people and defying every international law and convention in the process. Our continued inaction would be our complicity. Too many lines have been crossed and too many lives lost. Meanwhile terrorists have seized upon the region's instability, using it to wage jihad and deploy terrorists around the world, including to Europe and the United States. Thankfully, it seems the days of allowing such atrocities to be left unchecked are over. Our prayers are with the Syrian people, that this long nightmare might soon be over. And our prayers are with our government and military leaders, that they would have strength and wisdom moving forward. And lastly, we pray for international leaders around the world, that they would join the effort in bringing stability to Syria and safety to her people. -Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Council.

Be sure of this: "The wicked will not go unpunished" Proverbs 11:21 #SyriaChemicalAttack -Marco Rubio, Florida senator and former Republican primary candidate.

The United States of America has struck an air base in Syria with Tomahawk and cruise missiles. This air base was the staging point for the deadly Syrian sarin attacks. President Trump, commenting on the horrific attacks of the Syrian government on it's [sic] own people, including women and children, said, 'No child of God should ever suffer such horror.' Pray for our leaders and military and the innocent victims of Syria! May God protect and bless the United States of America.-Greg Laurie, Harvest Crusade evangelist.

Join me in praying for our nation and the innocent people in Syria suffering as a result of this awful civil war. Ask God to give wisdom to President Donald J. Trump and leaders in the Middle East to bring resolutions to the conflict, and pray that this will not escalate any further. -Franklin Graham, evangelist, founder of Samaritan's Purse.

Praying for peace tonight. Asking God that the situation in Syria not escalate.-Cindy Jacobs, prophet.

The president should be commended for moving fast and hitting hard. Now the big question: What will the president do next? Is this a one-off attack, or will the president order a series of attacks? What are the president's goals in Syria? He should destroy Syria's airfields and air force. He should create safe zones where Syrians can be protected from chemical weapons attacks and other attacks. And he must prove that he will hit Assad with tremendous force so no leader or terrorist believes they can use weapons of mass destruction with impunity.

It's not just about Syria—the president sent a powerful message last night to Putin, the ayatollahs in Iran, the North Koreans and other American enemies and opponents. But there must be follow-up and a clear, coherent and focused strategy.Expect the Israeli military to be on high alert for possible reprisal attacks.I expect our key Sunni Arab allies—notably Egypt, Jordan, the Saudis and most of the Gulf states—to fully and publicly support President Trump's actions.Let's be praying for the president and his national security advisers, for U.S. military forces around the world and particularly in the Middle East and for the suffering people of Syria.-Joel C. Richardson, end-times expert and prolific author.

Quite possibly escalation is not God's will but is compensated for in His plan.

Surreal.
