The NYT Blames Syria for US War Crimes

by Stephen Lendman

In March 2011, Syria was invaded, a US regime change plot, using ISIS and other terrorists to do Washington’s dirty work, since 2014 supported by Pentagon terror-bombing.

Not according to The NYT’s version of events, reinventing history to serve its imperial-supportive agenda.

The Times claims so-called “documents” show photos of “more than 6,000 dead at the hands of the state, many of them tortured,” adding:

“Records of crimes are now so graphic, so immediate, so overwhelming…documentation…has brought little justice. The people behind the violence remain free” - falsely accusing Assad for high crimes committed by America, its rogue allies and terrorist foot soldiers.

Deplorable reporting is the first casualty of war - fake news, disinformation and Big Lies substituting for journalism the way it’s supposed to be.

Truth-telling is considered heresy. The so-called newspaper of record is America’s leading proliferator of state-friendly propaganda - serving as a virtual press agent for its ruthless agenda.

The Times: “Russia has repeatedly used its veto power to shield Syria from international condemnation.”

Fact: Moscow remains committed to combatting US-supported terrorism on its territory. It rejects blaming its government for actions it didn’t commit.

The Times: “Assad’s opponents (say) keeping a head of state with so much blood on his hands perpetuates the war.”

Fact: Since Obama launched naked aggression in March 2011, escalated by Trump, Assad responsibly defended his people, Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Times: “The (April 4) chemical attack was just his most recent atrocity after years of torture, enforced disappearances, siege warfare and indiscriminate bombing of civilian neighborhoods and hospitals. Such violence will continue as long as Mr. Assad and his security apparatus remain…”

Fact: The Times deplorable reinvention of history is part of its consistent misreporting - blaming victims for high crimes committed by Washington, its rogue allies and terrorist foot soldiers.

The Times: “The Syrian uprising began with detention and torture in March 2011.”

Fact: No “uprising” occurred, no revolution. Syria was invaded. Regime change remains Washington’s objective, part of its imperial plot for unchallenged dominance, wanting all sovereign independent governments eliminated.

The Times is a lying machine, supporting Washington’s destructive imperial project instead of condemning it responsibly.
