My husband, Russell, and I hadn't planned on tangling with the Feds today. We had planned a protest of an eminent domain seminar happening at the Radisson today. Assistant Attorney General for NH Mark Hodgdon was speaking to a group, training local businesses and governments how to steal people's property through eminent domain. But it turns out George Bush was visiting the Radisson the same day, hence our brush with the police state.

We brought a bunch of signs for protesting eminent domain, plus two others with Bush's visit in mind. We went inside the Radisson to where the eminent domain seminar was being held, got a few photos of the people learning to steal. Then the Radisson employees asked us to leave, so we did. None of us mind respecting private property.

Once back outside, we stood on the sidewalk near Elm Street. I switched to holding a sign saying, "Bush, Feds = Fascists" (I didn't want to be partisan; I think both parties are evil). One of the Secret Service guys came to me and told me that the agreed upon protest area would be across the street. I informed him that I hadn't agreed to that, and asked him if he was one of the fascists. He said that he wasn't. We take great exception to the idea that free speech is only allowed in certain cordoned off areas, the so-called "Free Speech Zones". So we stayed put where we were, not hurting anyone, not interfering with anyone, not bothering the people waiting for the bus right next to us.

About five minutes later, the Manchester police showed up and informed us that we were going to move to the Free Speech Zone or be arrested. Russell walked off with the policeman, talking to him about this when next thing I knew, Russell was bent over in handcuffs. I went over to find out what they were doing to him. They were saying that they were only following orders. The Nazis said the same thing about locking up Jews. I asked them if they remembered Nuremburg, and they just looked disgusted. It took a while for a paddy wagon to show up, so we stood there arguing with the police for a while. I got the camera out of Russell's pocket and snapped a couple pictures. The police said they didn't like that and I asked if they didn't want people to know what they were doing. I asked why all the other people could be on the street, and we couldn't. The police said it was because we were holding signs. I got pretty upset and started screaming about this being a police state. They decided they were going to arrest me, too then. I wasn't about to cooperate with that, so sat down and started screaming more. I basically screamed until I couldn't scream any more and they had to carry me to the paddy wagon. They carried Russell, too, but he was much calmer.

Our friend Cathleen had taken my daughter Kira away from all the fuss at the protest, so she wouldn't be arrested also. She got a message into the jail to us that Kira was safe and would with them overnight, if need be. I was very grateful for this. Kira has said she would go to jail with us, but the idea scared her.

Once at the police station, Officer Murby was talking to Russell. He told Russell he would buy him a plane ticket to Iran or Iraq if Russell wanted to renounce his citizenship. It sounded like the offer was open to anyone, if anyone is interested in taking him up on it. Another officer told us if we didn't like America, we could leave. I don't understand why, if you object to something happening in your country, one must leave rather than trying to fix it. They thought we were "tree huggers", rather than people interesting in maintaining liberty in America. Just to be clear, we're neither Democrats nor Socialists (nor Republicans for that matter).

They put us through their processing and threw us in separate cells. We stayed in for several hours before we talked to a bail commissioner who let us out on our own recognizance. After they let us go, we were able to walk back to our car. The police station was very close to where we had been protesting.

Later, our friend Cathleen told us that all the Bush protesters had been jammed into this tiny area where they were elbow to elbow, hardly able to move. None were protesting this treatment. I think they're practicing gathering them together so they can shoot them all easily.

Arrested, for standing on a sidewalk. Free speech only in designated areas. It is a police state.

Another officer told us if we didn't like America, we could leave.

The Indians told that to the Pilgrims, too.

I've already said too much.

Some days, I believe that that this is what it will come down/up to.

Whenever enough folks awaken to the fuck-job that are our controllers, we'll just have to deal with them. One little government at a time.

Stop the retirement bennies at your local level, and move your way up the ladder of corruption.

imo

It will. Nothing organized at first, but think leaderless resistance. The concept scares the OTHERS.

Wait till all these soldiers come back from the ME. They will have been brainwashed and propagandized to arrest citizens who disagree with gov/corp policies.
