Republican Congressman Predicts Bush Impeachment Says US close to dictatorship Paul Joseph Watson/Prison http://Planet.com | March 3 2006 Republican Congressman Ron Paul has gone on record with his prediction that the impeachment of George W. Bush is right around the corner but warned that in the meantime the US was slipping perilously close to a dictatorship. Appearing on the Alex Jones Show and addressing the port sell-out, Paul stated that, "it probably will contribute to the Republican's failure in the next election." Asked if the Democrats would use gains in the mid-term elections to set in motion impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush, Paul responded, "I predict that would happen." "I think he (Bush) has numerous things that the Democrats if they get a chance, not only will they be after him for that but it will be payback for the Clinton impeachment." Paul was inclined to believe that the port sales would go ahead anyway but took a positive perspective in pointing out that it again highlighted George W. Bush's complete abandonment of conservative principles. "At least this has awakened a lot of people and I think this is going to serve as a benefit," said Paul. "They're likely to pull this deal off but the American people are awakening now and I think there's going to be a payback period in the election." The Congressman expressed his resignation at the passage of the Patriot Act and how it again underscores Bush's unchecked powers "They had a few token changes which mean nothing and under the present system he (President Bush) just ignores what he doesn't like anyway." Asked if the US was heading into a dictatorship, Paul responded, "It's getting close to it, it's called usurpation of power and it's done in many ways with Congress just going along because they're sound asleep and this certainly is an attack on our Constitution and on our freedoms."

I heard the interview. RP is aces, but our scattered movement needs a national leader. I'd settle for a state-wide leader. RP should run for governor of TX. He'd be someone we can all gather around, that is if it isn't too late.
If the Democrats take the House in November, John Conyers will be chairman of the House Judiciary Committee (which presides over impeachment matters.)
I hadn't realized that, then it's almost a done deal. I don't think even Diebold can save the GOP now, but no doubt that will be the biggest hurdle.
If an impeachment makes it out of the House, it will be very interesting to see what happens in a Senate impeachment trial.

I here now that the Wall St Journal is now talking the I-word, I think if the Democrats, take the house and senate in '06, GW and maybe shotgun Dick is toast, of course Diebold will be needed to prevent that. There are some in the GOP who are totally disgusted with the Bush lot, and would shove those two off just to recover in '08.
I heard on Lou Dobbs a short time ago that Peter King and Susan Collins are offering the White House a face-saving way to back down, but apparently there is no assurance yet that the White House will accept the deal. Under the deal, DP World would remain the contract, but would subcontract all management functions in the U.S. ports to a U.S. subcontractor.

Impeachment would be the death of Dims; there are no grounds except the ranting imagination of frustrated Americans; ( except for refusing to control the borders , which is a Constitutional issue ; but strangely, polls say only about 10 % of the people care about the borders; imo THERE'S SOME SCARED BIG TIME LYING GOING ON IN THESE POLLS) it would be , and is, just another diversion to distract you from the borders and illegal swarming and giving away America by the NeoCons who are poised again to migrate to the Far East..... and it just ain't going to happen....so beat a drum that can be heard by those not lost in Fantasyland.

You had better check your history on this one. There are Jewish cemetaries in China and the Chinese have allowed Jews to live there for many years. But after the Zionists have killed their U.N. observer, that may change. ;0)
I know my history. Jews have been expelled from at least 81 areas in less than 2000 years, almost always because of their attempts to destroy whatever cultures are stupid enough let them in. The Chinese are not stupid. They'll never let millions of Jews move there, no matter how much Mandarin is taught in Israeli schools. They've finally worn out their welcome in Europe and Russia, they're under attack in the Middle East, and they're finally screwing up big-time in America. Do you really think the Chinese, who are a different race than Jews, and who consider themselves the only civilized people in the world, and call China "the Middle Kingdom" (the center of the world) are going to let a bunch of idiots move in, who immediately will start insulting the Chinese and whining they're "anti-Semitic"?

Forget about such niceties as separation of powers, checks and balances (crucial to the practice of democracy), the First Amendment, the Fourth Amendment, and open government-these guys are on an autocratic tear. Whenever they've been challenged (all too rarely), they simply shout "war on terror," "commander-in-chief," "support our troops," "executive privilege," "I'm the decider," or some other slam-the-door political phrase designed to silence any opposition. Indeed, opponents are branded "enemies" who must be demonized, personally attacked, and, if possible, destroyed. Bush's find-the-loopholes lawyers assert that a president has the right to lie (even about going to war), to imprison people indefinitely (without charges, lawyers, hearings, courts, or hope), to torture people, to spy on Americans without court or congressional review, to prosecute reporters who dare to report, to rewrite laws on executive whim?and on and on. Here, we are pleased to give you a sense of the enormity of what Bush & Company are doing under the cloak of war and executive privilege in a handy- dandy poster format. National Security Letters These are secret executive writs that the infamous 2001 Patriot Act authorizes the FBI to issue to public libraries, internet firms, banks, and others. Upon receiving an NSL, the institution or firm is required to turn over any private records it holds on you, me, or whomever the agents have chosen to search. Who authorizes the FBI to issue these secret writs? The FBI itself. NSA Eavesdropping In 2001, Bush issued a secret order for the National Security Agency to begin vacuuming up massive numbers of telephone and internet exchanges by U.S. citizens, illegally seizing this material without any judicial approval or informing Congress, as required by law. Interesting Fact The New York Times reported this June that Bush was running another spy program. This one was snooping through international banking records, including millions of bank transactions done by innocent Americans. George reacted angrily to the exposure, branding the Times report "disgraceful" and declaring that revelation of his spy program "does great harm to the United States." The White House and its right-wing acolytes promptly launched a "Hate- the-Times" political campaign. Name the guy who was the first to reveal that such a bank-spying program was in the works: George W. Bush! At a September 2001 press conference, he announced that he'd just signed an executive order to monitor all international bank transactions. Watch Lists From the Bus**tes' ill-fated Total Information Awareness program (meant to monitor all of our computerized transactions) to the robust efforts by Rumsfeld's Pentagon to barge into the domestic surveillance game, America under Bush has fast become "The Watched Society." Name That Guy! In 1966, a young Republican congressman stood against his party's elders to cosponsor the original Freedom of Information Act, valiantly declaring that public records "are public property." He said that FOIA "will make it considerably more difficult for secrecy-minded bureaucrats to decide arbitrarily that the people should be denied access to information on the conduct of government." Who was that virtuous lawmaker? Donald Rumsfeld! Only eight years later, Gerald Ford's chief of staff strongly urged him to veto the continuation of FOIA. Who was that dastardly staffer? Donald Rumsfeld! Who is now one of the chief "secrecy-minded bureaucrats" who routinely violates OIA's principles? Right, him again! Regime of Secrecy "Democracies die behind closed doors." -- Appeals court judge Damon Keith, ruling in a 2002 case that the Bus**tes cannot hold deportation hearings in secret Halliburton "Halliburton is a unique kind of company." "Since leaving Halliburton to become George Bush's vice-president, I've severed all of my ties with the company, gotten rid of all my financial interest.
