The night before the Kennedy assassination, Lyndon Baines Johnson met with Dallas tycoons, FBI moguls and organized crime kingpins - emerging from the conference to tell his mistress Madeleine Duncan Brown that "those SOB's" would never embarrass him again. It's a jaw-dropping deposition and it's the biggest JFK smoking gun there is - despite the fact that it has received little media attention.
There were several organizations involved the murder of Kennedy.
1) The CIA. They were using Cuban terrorists who had escaped Cuba and began working for the CIA in 1962. A couple of the Watergate fiasco were involved and were working for the CIA. Orlando Bosch, a terrorist that made Bin Laden look like he was a good guy was one of the shooters. He and several of the others were pissed at Kennedy for pulling the air support from the Bay of Pigs invasion.
Bosch was in federal prison for some crime in the late 80s. He was wanted in Venezuela for blowing a Cuba airliner loaded with Cuban athletes. He was put in prison for a parole violation. They had a court order to deport him but Bush Sr overruled the deportation order. Slowly he began to talk to certain people and some reporters and next thing, Jeb Bush runs to his daddy and warns him about Bosch starting to leak a little info about "that thing" and daddy need to pardon him - which he did.
Israel was pissed at Kennedy because he was insisting that the US and UN nuclear agencies be able to examine the nuclear site at Dimona. He wanted to make sure Israel was following the agreement it had with the US that it would not build any type of nuclear weapon. If they were, he said he was going to pull support and funding (American tax dollars)from Israel. Of course Israel couldn't allow the site to be inspected because they were building nukes. Israel provided some funding and intelligence assistance for the operation.
A few weeks before he was murdered he had ordered a gradual but complete withdrawal from Nam. The elite rich who were looking to expand the war and make billions of dollars from it were, to say the least, pissed off. They quietly worked with Johnson that once Kennedy was popped, he would find a war to advance the war so they could make hundreds of millions of dollars from it. Hence, The Gulf of Tonkin.
Kennedy also issued Executive Order 11110 which was going to cause the FED some discomfort. Don't know how involved the FED was, but wouldn't surprise me.
Marita Lorenz had met Castro when her father's cruise ship captained by her father sailed into the Havana harbor in 1959. Almost immediately she became his mistress, iving with him on his private floor of the Habana Hilton for seven months. She was tolerated by Celia Sánchez, his longtime companion, and tortured by the flings he enjoyed with other women.
Lorenz, though, had become pregnant, though conflicting evidence made it difficult to determine what became of the baby. But in early October of 1959, when she was seven and a half months pregnant, she was slipped a Mickey in a glass of milk. When she came to, she was in the doctors office, told the baby was fine, and given an injection. When she awoke the second time, though, she was notified that the baby had to be taken away because of Fidels enemies.
Fidel wasnt there for any of this, she said. He was on the other side of the island. According to an F.B.I. report on December 3, 1959, Lorenz told the agents that she had had a miscarriage after her return to Havana in the spring of 1959. Miss Lorenz stated that she is not too clear on the details of this matter . . . but she has been told rumors that she had been drugged, taken to a hospital and an abortion was performed. . . . Miss Lorenz stated that it was after this miscarriage and the reaction of Fidel Castro, that she turned against him.
The CIA and others wanted Castro killed and she was used by the CIA once to murder him. She was given was given two botulism-toxin pills that looked like white gelatin capsules, which would kill him in 30 seconds, along with the guts pill shed been ordered to swallow before leaving. Its some kind of shit the C.I.A. gives you, she said, that makes you feel very strong, courageous, indifferent. Like speed.
But even with the guts pill, Lorenzs mission was toast. I knew the minute I saw the outline of Havana I couldnt do it, she said. Even if she had had the will to go through with her mission, she had already botched it, having stashed the capsules in a jar of cold cream. When she looked for them, they were all gunked up. I fished them out and flushed them down the bidet.
When Castro finally appeared, he was wary. He was very tired and wanted to sleep. . . . He was chewing a cigar, and he laid down on the bed and said, Did you come here to kill me? Just like that. I was standing at the edge of the bed. I said, Yes. I wanted to see you. And he said, Thats good. Thats good.
Castro asked if she was working for the CIA, to which Lorenz replied not really. I work for myself. Then he leaned over, pulled out his .45, and handed it to me. I flipped the chamber out and hit it back. He didnt even flinch. And he said, You cant kill me. Nobody can kill me. And he kind of smiled and chewed on his cigar . I felt deflated. He was so sure of me. He just grabbed me. We made love. I contemplated stayingto try talking to him later, after his speech, but it would be too late, because he rambles on for 8, 10, 12 hours. That was the hardest part. I wanted him to beg me to stay, but he got dressed and left. I just sat there by myself awhile. I left him a note. I told him that I would be back.
After this she returned to Miami where she learned the CIA was not too happy with her. A CIA contract, Frank Sturgis, and was advised she was going to be part of operation 40. She described Operation 40 as an 'assassination squad' consisting of about 30 anti-Castro Cubans and their American advisors. Lorenz said one of the planned operations was to kill Kennedy.
She said Oswald... visited an Operation 40 training camp in the Florida Everglades...She also said that this meeting was attended by Sturgis, Oswald, Bosch and Diaz Lanz, former Chief of the Cuban Air Force. She said the men spread Dallas street maps on a table and studied them... She said they left for Dallas in two cars soon after the meeting. They took turns driving, she said, and the 1,300-mile trip took about two days."
Lorenz testified before the House Select Committee on Assassinations where she said that Sturgis had been one of the gunmen who fired on John F. Kennedy in Dallas. The committee dismissed her testimony, as they were unable to find any other evidence to support it.
Good group of suspects, but don't ever forget the Mafia (Bobby was trying to come down on them) and the oil industry (Jack proposed eliminating the oil-depletion allowance [a huge tax deal for them]).
Enough entities wanted JFK dead to have formed a firing squad of their own, and I believe that they did. Oswald was a patsy.

While I definitely believe Bush was intimately involved in the Kennedy murder I don't think that picture is proof positive of Bush' attendance at the School Book Depository. (I also believe he was in Dallas, Texas the day of the murder). I'm just saying that the pic isn't clear enough to be proof positive.
My best guess would be LBJ, with assistance from many others.

G.H.W.Bush was a senior agent at the FBI when Kennedy was murdered. A large evidence pool indicates he WAS IN DALLAS the day of.
I've not researched it, but it struck me that soon after JFK's demise, Bush rose very quickly in the ranks of the FBI, and that occurred UNDER A DEMOCRAT president (even while Bush was a Democrat). OR - was Bush a DEM back then?

Just going from memory, but weren't the shrubs always pubbies?

In 1976 Ford brought Bush back to Washington to become Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), replacing William Colby.[36] He served in this role for 357 days, from January 30, 1976, to January 20, 1977.[37] The CIA had been rocked by a series of revelations, including those based on investigations by the Church Committee regarding illegal and unauthorized activities by the CIA, and Bush was credited with helping to restore the agency's morale.[38] In his capacity as DCI, Bush gave national security briefings to Jimmy Carter both as a Presidential candidate and as President-elect, and discussed the possibility of remaining in that position in a Carter administration,[39] but did not do so. He was succeeded by Deputy Director of Central Intelligence E. Henry Knoche, who served as acting Director of Central Intelligence until Stansfield Turner was confirmed.[40]
