(Tasnim) -- Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Wednesday, Brigadier General Esmaili pointed to the employment of the Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, saying it has been installed and is operated by the countrys air defense forces. Iran took the delivery of the S300-PMU2 missile system from Russia in July 2016. The commander added that the Bavar-373 missile system, which would be stronger than the S-300, is planned to be tested by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2018). He went on to say that the domestically-made missile system will be added to the countrys integrated air defense network in the next Iranian year. Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere. Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republics defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence. Poster Comment: http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-S-300PMU2-Favorit.html What the Russians gave them was the Antey version of the S-300 which is closer to the S-400. The Iranians have already made improvements to the guidance systems the Russians sold the. Iran prefer to get a license from Russia or China and make their own souped up versions. The Iranians already have radar capable of seeing supposedly stealth planes. That S-300 PMU2 missile flies at Mach 7. The F-16 has a max speed of Mach 2.05 and the UK Tornado is Mach 2.2. But that is without a heavy load of bombs. Russia has faster anti-aircraft missiles at Mach 12. No US military professional will go to war with Russia and Iran. If America were bogged down by a war, China would make moves. Of course the dollar would die, wages and pensions would be cut in half. Some pensions might be cut 70%.
