In this case, not really: notice it's an old Mustang, late 1980's to early 1990's; you can get one with a dead engine for about $500. 5.3-liter Chevy truck engine is a junkyard special $500-$1000 and needs only new gaskets and engine bearings. Scrounge for the rest of the parts and this car can be built for well under $10,000 all day long.
