US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson admits that Russia may have a better approach to Syria and the US. He also said that the US and Russia have the same overall goals in Syria. Rex Tillerson has given an audio interview to reporters after the lengthy meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin which both Tillerson and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended. Tillerson spoke of how after getting to know one another, Trump and Putin became immersed in a thoroughly engaging conversation. Tillerson gave the following description of why the meeting lasted so long,
There was so much to talk about, all these issues, just about everything got touched on
there was just such a level of engagement and exchange that neither one of them (Trump and Putin) wanted to stop. Tillerson continued saying that Melania Trump was sent in at one point to try and get the leaders to conclude their meeting, They sent in the first lady to see if she could get us out of there
.we went another hour after she came to see us, so clearly she failed (to get the leaders to hurry up). Tillerson stated that the bulk of the meeting covered Syria where he said that Russia and the US have the same objectives in Syria but with different views on how to achieve them. He said, that there is
more commonality than differences in Syria
maybe theyve got the right approach and maybe weve got the wrong approach. This is something of a startling admission from a US Secretary of State. Tillerson who has met with Putin when he was a businessman seemed to think that the leaders had a very productive meeting in spite of difficult circumstances. Now listen to Rex Tillerson describe the meeting in his own words. From Pravda Main Forum Post Meeting Press Briefing with Tillerson. Syria "Our position continues to be we see no long term role for the Assad family or the Assad regime, we just, we've made this clear ah to everyone, we've certainly made it clear in our discussions with Russia ah that we do not think Syria can achieve international recognition in the future even if they work through a successful political process. The International Community simply is not going to accept a Syria led by the Assad regime, and so if Syria is to be accepted and and have a a ah secure ah both secure and economic future, it really requires that they find new leadership. We think it will be difficult for them to attract both the humanitarian aide as well as the reconstruction assistance that's going to be required because there's just will be such a low level of confidence in the Assad government. Ah so that continues to be the view, as we said, how Assad leaves is yet to be determined but our views that somewhere in that political process there'll be a transition away from the Assad family." Poster Comment: Tatarewicz "Russia may have a better approach to Syria..." These remarks may be recognition of the progress being made by SAA and its allies. However, it matters not what Tillerson and Trump say or do. US foreign policy is determined by Congress, a Congress whose members were "hand picked" by the Israeli lobby for their loyalty to Israel which needs a balkanization of Syria to meet its expansion and security objectives. e 22 US overall goal in Syria is regime change and partition of Syria on behalf of Greater Israel. I doubt this is the same goal for Kremlin. Tillerson is fake news. And sadly he is considered one of the most reasonable people in Washington. Imagine the rest. MetalHeadCrab It finally occurred to Tillerson that watering and tending the tree of terrorism might be a bad approach to solving problems. Golly gee, who would have thunk?! I wish Tillerson's epiphany would give me hope but it doesn't. Look how long it took him to reach this conclusion. Are there any non-psychopathic warmongering adults left in the US that can run their own country without setting the rest of the world on fire? By the way, I don't really believe Tillerson is telling the truth. The US made it abundantly clear numerous times that their objective was regime change in Syria. That is not the same objective Russia has. If I'm not mistaken Russia's goal is to prevent another Libya scenario from playing out in Syria by protecting the legitimate government of Syria and defeating ISIS. Putin has said before, a number of Russian citizens are fighting for ISIS as well as people from ex-soviet countries. These terrorists are a threat to Russia. Until we start seeing US obliterating ISIS and not providing air support for them by shooting down Syrian aircraft, Tillerson is all words and no action. richardstevenhack The end result of the meeting was exactly...nothing. Tillerson is irrelevant. He is being marginalized by the Trump Administration and the Deep State. His only function now is to make confusing mollifying statements to the press while Trump and the Deep State go about making their war plans. This is just like it was under Obama - Obama would make nice sounding statements, then proceed to back stab everyone attempting to derail his war plans. I predict Putin and Trump will get along great, much to the dismay of the MSM and Deep State.
