MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin says that whoever reaches a breakthrough in developing artificial intelligence will come to dominate the world.

Putin, speaking Friday at a meeting with students, said the development of AI raises "colossal opportunities and threats that are difficult to predict now."

He warned that "the one who becomes the leader in this sphere will be the ruler of the world."

Putin warned that "it would be strongly undesirable if someone wins a monopolist position" and promised that Russia would be ready to share its know-how in artificial intelligence with other nations.

The Russian leader predicted that future wars will be fought by drones, and "when one party's drones are destroyed by drones of another, it will have no other choice but to surrender."

When the Japs attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, it defeated the non- interventionists in one fell swoop. ;)

One thing we do know, the 'intelligent leadership' that has 'ruled' the USA for the past hundred years has not done so to benefit the Republic of the United States, nor its people.

It is an oligarch now approaching a socialist government itself, and works non-stop to removing the 'mistake' Donald Trump from his elected office, which was an anomaly and sudden and uncalculated surprise that should never have come into reality, by their own confessions.

That is probably true. Because AI is intelligent enough to design their own improved replacements, the advancement will be extremely fast. That is, because, AI is a million times faster than human intelligence. Therefore, design that takes a team of human a year, AI would do in less than a day. Improved replacements would only take as long as it takes to assemble the new design.

Admiral Perry's pushiness in opening up Japan for trade is what gave rise to Japanese militarism. Moderate, peaceful politicians would have prevailed in that once-closed society but people backed the Tojo gang in response to the Perry affront.

Eventually US got trade with Japan, so much so that all the electronics outfits in America had to close down.
