It was a scene right out of a Wild West movie where the hombres on horseback ride into a Texas border town in the dead of night and gallop down Main Street, firing indiscriminately.

However this was no movie and the horses these thugs were driving was a Nissan Altima and that fabled Main Street was Glenburnie Drive, in North Houston, Texas.

This incident reminds me of something that happened in Chicago right in front of my house.

One of the neighbors had a block party planned for one of his daughters who was turning 16.

We had the Blazer out front. So a few buddies and I figured to get a head start on it. The tailgate was down and we were yukking it up with a case of beer.

The neighbor was getting some groceries out of his car. Then a car with 2 black guys went by real slow. One of the guys with me said, "Niggers! What are niggers doing around here?" They heard it and backed up.

It turns out the cops were up the street talking with neighbor that was getting groceries from his car.

So the black guys figured they were going to be tough. When they back up, they start to say, "There ain't no niggers here. We all gonna get busted together and go the 26th and California (county jail) where the brothers is at." "We got something here that gonna blow your shit away."

The cops backed up and left.

So I called their bluff and went in the house and got the Mini-14. I chambered a round when I came out the door. When they saw that, they floored it and blew the stop sign at the corner getting out of there.
