To whomever is running 4um these days (I'm not even sure) free SSL encryption is now available from letsencrypt.org. It's very easy to set up, far easier than has been done in the past with paid encryption authorities. One simply needs root access to the system and apache config files. The best value for this is in encrypting the passwords and private mail from the site. I can assist if and as needed, though it is easy just by visiting the site and following the instructions.
It should work for any linux web server.
