LOS ANGELES - The marriage proposal everyone saw on TV after the World Series was something Astros star Carlos Correa had been planning for a while. In fact, Correa said he wanted propose to his girlfriend Miss Texas USA Daniella Rodriguez sooner, but he was patiently waiting, hoping he could do it on a national stage. The Astros' 5-1 win in Game 7 over the Dodgers provided just that stage.
"I was like OK, so we have a championship caliber team, so let me wait it out to see if we can be champions and do it at the big stage," Correa said. "So, we were able to win the game, which was the first part of my day to accomplish, and then I was able to do it."

Astros in the World Series
During a national interview with Fox's Ken Rosenthal, Correa got down on one knee beside Rodriguez and said, "Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me?"
She immediately clasped her hands over her mouth and gasped, "Oh my God" repeatedly. Eventually, she said yes.
Correa brought the ring to the ballpark and had it in his locker at Dodger Stadium. Before heading onto the field, he told Astros clubhouse manager Carl Schneider to go get the ring for him.
"I'm like, 'I don't want to jinx it, but if we get these three outs, bring me my ring, make sure you don't lose it,'" Correa said. "He was able to bring it in and I talked to Ken Rosenthal and we were able to do it"
It's unclear when the Houston Astros star and the former Miss Texas USA began dating, but their first public photo is from a Kanye West concert in Chicago on Oct. 7, 2016. Rodriguez threw out the first pitch at an Astros game on Aug. 31 of that year.
