"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons."

I knew a guy in Illinois who measured out his life by how much coke he could free base in a spoon. His Mom suspected what was going on, but turned a blind eye. That was very long ago and that guy was good at doing exposed aggregate driveways. He just could not keep his life straight. No way to know if he is dead or alive now.

But one time I was out on night patrol with the State. I came upon a wreck where a car going south went off the road on a lazy curve to the left. The car went thru a guard rail and hit on old bridge wall. The front wheels were turned up under the car like landing gear on an airplane. The steering column was pushed up into the passenger compartment and took off the girl's head that was driving.

That guy that did the concrete said he knew her and he used to party with her. It was pretty darn gruesome and have seen many bad accidents since that time.

I am very lucky to remember this because of meningitis which wipe out a lot of my memory. ;)
