Jim Rickards said something similar from a completely different perspective. He said the US Dollar will lose 80% of its purchasing power overseas. That means imported goods will go up 500% (that's the reciprocal) to US holders of dollars. But things domestically will only go up a fraction of 500%. Of course foreigners will buy our food or farm land so groceries will go up too until the Nationwide Food Riots begin. At that point we will suspend food exports and even print more money to give to the poor to buy food. That is when the Hyperinfaltion begins. Chinese are already buying farm land to raise crops to feed their farm animals.
