One of the things I'm really appreciating in your work here is the cascading cause & effect events, where one event triggers into a subsequent event, which then repeats in domino fashion. It's a creative element, perhaps a necessary one for any story of any length. More than enjoying the story, I think I'm actually learning from it too as I'm not particularly creative in this way.

Lod mentioned finding you a publisher. 20+ years ago that would mean sending your book to publishers in hopes of finding one that finds your work as having money making potential. But in the internet age, there are web sites that are geared to digital publishing. I've read a little of them before. It seemed like a guild type setup where you submit your book and if a few read it and give it good reviews, others also take a look and it goes viral from there according to the book's merits. And just today I saw on facebook (which I don't frequent) a friend of mine from long ago managed to get a book he wrote available on Amazon. It's a self-help book about running an internet business and so is not a fantasy novel, but if he can do it then.....

I think the book does need some editing, I think as I mentioned before. Mainly it's a second pair of eyes to make sure all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed, specifically ensuring no more than one person speaks per paragraph, any potentially ambiguity is expanded for clarification and the like. I've seen a little bit of that, which is probably normal for works of such length regardless of the author's skills. I think the battle scenes could probably use some work in that regard as I got a bit confused or lost, somewhat, in those pages. In my case, I know I actually have probably reduced reading comprehension as I tend to miss a lot of detail when I'm reading a book or viewing a movie for the first time, so I could potentially serve as a "least common denominator" in that regard. On the plus side that means I can enjoy such works a second or third time without getting bored.

On a lessor note, I'm impressed with all the creative names you've come up with for this sizeable cast of characters. I wonder if you've simply done that off the top of you head or if you have some kind of computer program that assembles random number of random phonetic segments that you draw from. If it were me, I'd probably write a program to help me out in that regard as I'd quickly run out of name ideas, and my programming skills would come to my rescue.

As in harden

I thought that could possibly be the case. It seemed amusing that either word could work in the poem, though I thought it more likely "theft" was the intended meaning.

Thanks for this and the previous post about how you work and how you've made the characters and the chapters work. Do you have any idea how much real time and how much calendar time you've spent on your novels?

Thanks for the background; your imagination and your ability to create vivid word pictures and amazing dialogue is truly a gift that should be widely disseminated and royally rewarded.
