While a bipartisan senate group had reportedly reached an "agreement in principle" on DACA, as well as packaging immigration reform in order to avoid a government shutdown next Friday, things took another turn for the bizarre, when the WaPo reported that Trump "grew frustrated with lawmakers Thursday in the Oval Office when they floated restoring protections for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries" as part of the proposed deal. "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" Trump burst out, referring to African countries and Haiti. Instead, he suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway. The comments left lawmakers "taken aback." Sens. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) proposed cutting the visa lottery program by 50 percent and prioritizing countries already in the system, a White House official said. As reported earlier, the administration announced this week that it was removing the protection for over 200,000 citizens from El Salvador; meanwhile, as part of a potential bipartisan deal, lawmakers discussed restoring protections for countries that have been removed from the temporary protected status program while adding $1.5 billion for a border wall and making changes to the visa lottery system. And, as so often happens, what was until noon a tentative deal, exploded in the afternoon when Trump changed his mind: Trump had seemed amenable to a deal earlier in the day during phone calls, aides said, but shifted his position in the meeting and did not seem interested. As a result, what was until just hours ago a done deal, is now in tatters. Something strange is going on in the financial system. And according to The Wall Street Journal, it’s causing some investors to move massive amounts of money out of the banking system. Graham and Durbin thought they would be meeting with Trump alone and were surprised to find immigration hard-liners such as Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) at the meeting. The meeting was impromptu and came after phone calls Thursday morning, Capitol Hill aides said. After the meeting, Marc Short, Trump’s legislative aide, said the White House was nowhere near a bipartisan deal on immigration. “We still think we can get there,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at the daily White House news briefing. Or maybe not, in which case a government shutdown may be inevitable. Oh, and as for the White House, it refused to deny that Trump said it.

A similar dilemma to choosing between a Republican and a Democrat. The answer is neither, aka None Of The Above (NOTA). You're going to need every man, woman, and child to fix that craphole mess you've got, now get to it! AMF (Adios MoFo) I hate that they start off by just caving in and granting amnesty to the DACA illegals. If they won't enforce the existing law, why should we believe that they'll enforce whatever they pass? So far President Trump has proven himself to be about as weak on immigration enforcement, as Obama and Bush. Catch & Release. The official deportation numbers are DOWN. Some proposed items that are being considered: 1) Reduction in Chain Migration - Minor children of the DACA's, and once the DACA's become US citizens (eligible at 21?) their parents. Splits the kids who are minors in the USA, from their siblings who are supposed to be back in their home country (but in reality are probably already here, and won't be deported). Parents who choose to come to the USA are also split from the rest of the family back there. 2) E-Verify to make employers do the Presidents job for him, because he's too afraid to take the heat for doing so. I'm not a big fan of this universal Mark of the Beast identification scam. The government already knows who the illegal aliens are from the many gov programs and services that they're taking advantage of. Papers Please! 3) End the Visa Lottery - JUST DO IT! 4) Border Security and the Wall Screw all the people around the world who think that they're living in a shithole, and need to come to the USA for "Political Refuge". Fix it yourself, overthrow the assclowns or whatever, PISS OFF! This is the real ACT OF LOVE plan, if you eliminate the DACA amnesty. Not being considered, but should be at the top of the list is cutting off non-citizen gov cheese and the many other freebie enticements to invade the USA and make yourselfs at home.
The grandfathering in Trump's proposal makes it a bad deal. No actual immigration reduction for 17 years. Meanwhile, without drastic action, Dems achieve a lock on the presidency by 2024.
