When I lived in Chicago I walked into the back yard of a neighbor. I heard some commotion in the alley so I go back there. 4 or 5 guys were beating on this kid. He was down and the final blow I saw was one of them jumping on his chest. I stopped the beating then and there. One of them came to his senses and picked the kid up and dragged him over to the side saying, "He's had enough." Then maybe 20 or 30 guys walked into the end of the alley and the fight was on. I took a lot of shit from them and they had me in a circle. I got out of it with only a few bruises. Thank God for Mayor Michael Bilandic. He gave us those trash can lids with handles. I used one of them for a shield and it kept my head in the right place, on my shoulders. ;) "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one." Edmund Burke
