If this is all true, then the shear scale of this disaster in terms of time and geography should give any sane person who advocates conventional nuke power extreme pause. While the risk of disasters of this scale actually happening are very small, if & when they do happen, the magnitude of them is absolutely overwhelming. At least with any other source of power, even coal, the opportunity always exists to shut it down in which case the harmful environmental effects vanish in, at most, a few years. But the Fukushima disaster will still be around for future generations to deal who were not yet born when this disaster occurred. With more tech we'll have more & safer alternatives to generate power. We can't be so desperate for power that we resort to such extremely dangerous sources, when alternatives exist and relatively little time (20-30 years) will make uranium fission reactors obsolete. I'm sure future generations will look back and call us insane for embracing it. Hopefully the tech will also be developed to de-radiate places like Fukushima so it can be cleaned up properly.
