No one really knows the exact number of cells, but we can approximate to about 10-50 trillion. Cells are always created and destroyed in the human body. About 300 million cells die every minute in our bodies! Since different cells have different jobs in our body, there are about 210 different "types" of cells.

These are replaced at a rate of about 2 million per second (again, from wikipedia). There are 86,400 seconds in a day and so: (2 million x 86,400) + 50 to 70 billion = 222 billion to 242 billion cells produced every day by the average human body. Note, this is for the average adult.

How many cells are produced in human body?

And their final count is…37.2 trillion. Calculating the number of cells in the human body is tricky. Part of the problem is that using different metrics gets you very different outcomes. Guessing based on volume gets you an estimate of 15 trillion cells; estimate by weight and you end up with 70 trillion.

Your body has many different kinds of cells. Though they might look different under a microscope, most cells have chemical and structural features in common. In humans, there are about 200 different types of cells, and within these cells there are about 20 different types of structures or organelles.

The largest cell in the human body is the female egg and the smallest is the malesperm. While you can't see skin or musclecells, the ovum is typically a millimetre in diameter, large enough to be seen with the naked eye

Interesting, thanks.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken
