What does it mean to be a fan vs. a follower of Jesus? Chuck Carlson and members of We Hold These Truths discuss this subject in a short introduction to a sermon by Pastor Scott Rice in Colorado. This thought provoking, 38 minute podcast will give Christians pause to think about where they are in the spectrum of fans and followers of Jesus. Pastor Rice recommends the book, Not a Fan by Kyle Idelman in his message.

Introducing (for those that don't already know of it) the monumental ministry of Charles E. Carlson -- We Hold These Truths. These people picket Babdist churches for their mindless Zionism, and do all with class and maturity!
The subject is long overdue -- Christains think loving God means being very very VERY FOND of him as if he's a pop music star or maybe a pink marshmallow in the sky. Oh JEEZus we adore you because you are ADORABLE. This accursed pietism sows the seeds for all the evils coming out of religion today.

UN to Israel: Refrain from using deadly force at Gaza border

"I do not know of another place like Gaza, for sure I have never been inside another like this tiny island entirely surrounded by Israels fences and Mediterranean cruising gunships. The only way in or out is with Israels permission, and the two million or more Muslims and Christians inside are near totally disarmed. While there in 2002, I asked my host to take me to a place where one could buy a rifle or handgun, and he did. Only two hunting rifles were displayed in the sporting goods department of a Gaza City department store. for sale. But the cost was prohibitive, as much a small auto, 5-10 times US prices. This was the final proof I needed that Gaza residents are disarmed after 70 years of occupation. No one could afford a gun if they could find one! I was told that owning even a live bullet would land one in an Israeli prison if caught with in in ones pocket by the occupiers...."
