The Zionist regime is committing an act of treason against the United States by trying to pull it into another illegal war of aggression against Iran on behalf of Israel, according to Dr. Kevin Barrett, an American academic who has been studying the events of 9/11 since late 2003. Dr. Barrett, a founding member of the Scientific Panel for the Investigation of 9/11, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on recent statements issued by the White House about Iran’s nuclear program. On Monday, the White House changed a public statement, which was issued in support of the Israeli prime minister’s speech against Iran’s nuclear activities and which stated that Tehran “has” a secret nuclear program. The statement was initially released by White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, hours after Benjamin Netanyahu, in a televised address, unveiled what he called documents which show there is a “secret” side to the Iranian nuclear program. “These facts are consistent with what the United States has long known: Iran has a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people,” read the initial version. The White House later changed the tense of the verb in the second sentence from present to past, saying Iran “had a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program...” Citing a White House official, NBC News reported that the initial statement had contained a “clerical error.” PressTV-US revises statement saying Iran ‘has’ secret N-program The White House has changed a public statement, which was issued in support of the Israeli prime minister’s claims on Iran’s nuclear activities and said Iran “has” a secret nuclear program. “The Israelis are trying to create the impression that Iran has violated the nuclear deal and to do so they dredged up the same old fake documents that they used in the past. This has been fully exposed in the work of investigative journalist Gareth Porter among others, that it was a dodgy dossier from the get-go, sort of like the supposed evidence that Iraq was full of weapons of mass destruction… that Colin Powel used to get the US to go to war against Iraq for the benefit of Israel,” Dr. Barrett said. ‘Seventh country in the list was Iran’ “Now Netanyahu is at the center of the Likud party in Israel. This is the rightwing extremist expansionist faction that was the leading player in the September 11 2001 false flag event that was designed to trick the United States into destroying the seven countries in five years that were posing a serious problem for Israel. And the seventh country in that list was Iran,” he stated. “All of the other six have essentially been destroyed by the United States. Iran has actually grown stronger. So Netanyahu is furious. He is also furious with Iran’s leadership telling the truth about such issues as Zionism and even to a certain extent 9/11. And he is furious that Iran is standing up for the rights of Palestinians. So he is doing everything he can to influence the US to try to go to war with Iran,” the scholar said. “And now the latest broadside is this dredging up the same old documents and presenting them as if they were something new. So Trump or the White House apparently was fooled into believing that these documents showed that Iran was violating the nuclear deal. And so they put out a statement saying that now we know that Iran has a clandestine nuclear weapons program,” he stated. “And of course the documents related to this stuff are fake documents anyway , as Gareth Porter has shown. They are related to things that happened 20 years ago. So Trump has to backtrack and revise the statement: ‘Iran had a clandestine nuclear weapons program,’” the analyst noted. “In either case this is really an act of treason against the United States to try to pull the United States into another illegal war of aggression on behalf of Israel. Everybody in the United States who has been part of these wars in the Middle Eastern countries that were designed to benefit Israel and triggered by the September 11 act of high treason and mass murder is a traitor to the United States,” he observed. The September, 11, 2001 attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, were a series of strikes in the US which killed nearly 3,000 people and caused about $10 billion worth of property and infrastructure damage. US officials assert that the attacks were carried out by 19 al-Qaeda terrorists but many experts have raised questions about the official account. They believe that rogue elements within the US government, such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, orchestrated or at least encouraged the 9/11 attacks in order to accelerate the US war machine and advance the Zionist agenda.
