At the biggest ever bombing part. RT: Syrian air defenses were deployed to thwart an attack by the Israeli rockets, Syria’s state SANA news agency reported. The bombing is reportedly being carried out by Israeli warplanes from Lebanese airspace. Syrian air defenses engaged missiles that Israeli warplanes are launching from outside the country’s territory, SANA reported on Thursday. The bombardment appeared to go on for hours, with the first missile strikes reported at about 1:30 am Damascus time on Thursday (22:30 GMT). Early Thursday morning, IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee confirmed that the Israeli army was continuing to hit “Iranian targets” in Syria, warning that any retaliation by Syrian forces would be met with “extreme seriousness.” So this is a “just hold still and I won’t kill you” rape type situation. SANA has released footage of Syrian air defense systems responding to incoming missiles. The Israeli strikes are seen as a continued retaliation to what Israel claims were some 20 rockets launched by Iran’s Quds Force from Syrian territory into the Israeli-occupied part of the Golan Heights earlier in the night. The Israel Defense Forces said its Iron Dome systems intercepted some of the projectiles and the reported attack resulted in no injuries. I’m not sure I’m buying the “no injuries” thing. If there were dead Jews, they wouldn’t admit it. Around the same time, Syria’s state media reported that Israel shelled the city of Baath in the northern Quneitra governorate. … Israel has been claiming that Iran is setting up bases of operations in Syria in order to stage attacks against the Jewish state. It has launched numerous air strikes against Syrian government-controlled territories, targeting alleged Iranian positions. Iran obviously is setting up bases of operations in Syria for strikes on the Jewish state. I don’t think they even deny that. Of course, they would say it’s for defense – but any strike is necessarily already defense, because they are being constantly bombed by the Jews. This tedious tenuousness has reached the point of absolutely absurdity. Israel cannot exist in a stable Middle East. We have now 70 years of proof of that absolute fact. And Czar Vladimir I is demanding a stable Middle East. So something has to give, eventually. Israel has no more proxies. ISIS is gone, their FSA terrorists are gone, the Kurds have been rekt completely. And yes: Iran is building bases in Syria which will be used to attack Israel. So, for all you people saying I’m being histrionic in saying we are on the brink: tell me, what are the possible outcomes of this situation? The only one that doesn’t involve an Iran-Israel direct conflict that the whole world will be sucked into is Putin backing down, and letting the Jews just completely destroy Syria, kill Assad, cut it up into different terrorist-run new states. Every other scenario involves the opening games of WWIII beginning within the next 18 months. Possibly much sooner. And thus far – since 1999 – Putin has backed down exactly zero times. Yeah, he cut some funding to Ukrainian rebels, but he never allowed Kiev to capture the east, so I don’t count that as backing down, that was just strategy (which you can agree or disagree with – I think he should have hit the gas, probably, but I don’t know what the outcome of that would have been, and he was balancing it with Syria, US election, etc.). Russia already has weapons capable of shooting down Israeli jets in Syria. And at this point, he has more than enough reason to use them. (Ostensibly, S-300s haven’t shipped yet, I maintain that they have and Russia is just talking about sending more.) So, yeah. I don’t know what to tell you. Other than that nuclear weapons making the planet uninhabitable is a hoax. We could very easily have a war where 2/3 major cities on the planet get nuked and everyone who doesn’t get blown away is fine. Nuclear winter, like the rest of climate science, is a joke. The ironic thing is that Trump, it appears, is going to be everything they claimed he was going to be, destroyer of the entire planet, yet for the exactly opposite reasons. Unless he changes his mind. Or this is all…. chess. Or if Bibi gets ousted and all of these dynamics change entirely. Saudi Arabia is a better target than Israel. The IDF can defend Israel but not Saudi Arabia and all the Gulf states.
Saudi is not yet openly bombing Iran bases whereas Israel is.
Attacking Saudi Arabia or even seriously threatening to will drive up the price of oil. The American people need to feel economic pain before they can object to what Trump is doing. Gasoline should be at least $5 a gallon.
So far, all oil fields whether in Iraq, Syria, Iran or Saudi are sacrosanct. Even Israel does not touch them.
