© Daily Record-USA TODAY NETWORK Tebow has been swinging a much better bat as of late.
Tim Tebow has struggled throughout much of the season with the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, but a strong month of June has the former Florida football stars season looking a lot more respectable.
With a 2-for-4 day in his Binghamton Rumble Ponies win over the Hartford Yard Goats on Saturday, Tebow raised his average to .256 on the year. While that is still less than stellar, he has hit extremely well over the past three weeks.
Im improving, seeing pitches, leaving some bad pitches, Tebow told reporters on Friday, per the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin. Im trying to be more direct to the baseball to do more damage with it.
Tebow is hitting .345 over Binghamtons last 10 games, and his OPS of .736 on the year is decent. Weve seen examples of the power he possesses with homers like this one, but consistency has obviously been the biggest issue for Tebow as he works his way through the Mets minor league system.
If Tebow can stay hot for another month in July, we know the Mets will be looking for an excuse to promote him.
