After the 2016 presidential election, which yielded President Trump, the intelligence community concluded that Russia had interfered in the vote, an accusation dismissed both by Moscow and Trump.
Four former Trump associates have either pleaded guilty or been indicted in the so-called Russia probe. This is while the president believes that the investigation is a "hoax," a witch hunt, or a scam.
The investigation seeks to find out whether the Russian government coordinated with Trumps aides after the intelligence communitys conclusion that the Kremlin helped with the New York billionaires campaign effort ahead of winning the White House, an allegation dismissed both by Moscow and the president.
