Quigley reveals that real power operates behind the scenes, in secrecy, and with little to fear from so-called democratic elections. He proves that conspiracies, secret societies, and small, powerful networks of individuals are not only real; theyre extremely effective at creating or destroying entire nations and shaping the world as a whole. We learn that representative government is, at best, a carefully managed con game. (Joe Plummer) Poster Comment: I have a copy of Tragedy and Hope. It is quite a tome. In it Quigley, who was an intelligence agent during WW II, was at a Navy base on Guam at the end of the war. Guam is where the guns for an invasion of Japan were in storage. The invasion never went off because we nuked them. They put the guns on 2 ships that set sail when Quigley was there. He asked the Harbor Master where they were headed. He replied, "One is going to Pyongyang and the other to Haiphong." They were sending them the guns to start the next two wars. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
