Breaking away from the fascinating teachings of The Scofield Reference Bible was one of the most difficult decisions of my entire life. Even after doubts arose in my mind, it took some seven or eight years to relinquish the ready-made theological clothing I had worn since the day of my conversion. For I was saved, at the age of sixteen, in a Baptist church where almost everyone carried a Scofield Bible. My spiritual tutors knew the footnotes and headings placed in the Bible by C. I. Scofield as well as they knew the Bible itself. Indeed, the two had become almost synonymous in their minds even as they were destined to become in my own mind. Even today it is difficult at times to clear my mind of some of Scofield’s presuppositions when I study God’s Word. Poster Comment: I was preparing to write a similar piece and found this. He also wished (knowing what he later learned) that he'd stolen a plane and bombed the Vatican as long as he was on the continent. Clearly more aspirational than operational, all things considered. Cyrus Ingerson was a petty criminal with the gift of gab. Read his biographies. He stole his mother-in-law's last $1500 with the promise of a great investment and used the money to abandon his first wife and two daughters forever. By his era, Zionist Jews owned the major publishing houses and where better to craft a special type of American Christianity called EVANGELICAL DISPENSATIONALISM. The new religion teaches the holiness of the Jews returning to Israel. I doubt Cyrus wrote the book. He received financial backing from Samuel Untermeier and the Secret Six. The crafting of American religion and beliefs into a Zionist mold began here folks.

All correct! The ONLY THING worse than this heresy, which btw has coopted so-called Christians into Satan's end game plans, is that so few that profess actually walk with Christ by His Holy Spirit. It does my heart good to see you here and to know things must be going well for you. That being said, I have lessened my participation on 4um especially in the area of religious disputes because they seem to end where they began, and God must have reasons for allowing blindness or ignorance to succeed amongst some here on planet deception. When churches in America utilize the FRN and accept the 501(c)(3) designation they have chosen a side that I cannot associate with when I know that they know or should know how this fraud is destroying everything good and is the engine driving international murder and genocide. Perhaps one of my greatest surprises came with the realization that followers of Scofield actually represented a comparatively small minority among Christians. It was only their dogmatism, plus the fact that they were so vocal, which made them appear to be in the majority. It was a comfort to learn that Scofield’s “rediscovered truths,” which he had learned at the feet of John Nelson Darby, a Plymouth Brethren, differed not only from most known commentaries, but from the great majority of the church fathers, and the reformers as well. I learned, too, that most of the critics of Scofieldism had, as I had, been devoted followers at one time.
