Among the hundreds of people arrested in North Dakota for protesting the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, Native Americans faced the most serious charges. More than two years after the protests began, federal judges are now handing down lengthy prison sentences to the protesters.

One of the Standing Rock activists, Red Fawn Fallis, was sentenced Wednesday for her role in a shooting incident during the protests. As part of a plea deal, the 39-year- old will serve the longest prison term of any Dakota Access protester: four years and nine months in federal prison for one count of civil disorder and one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.

I don't know what will become of us. We simply cannot do the environment OR the Bill of Rights this way. All pipelines rupture, it's a form of russian roulette among cities, towns and farms what area will be the lucky one(s).

This problem is a direct result of the problem almost nobody notices -- overpopulation. If we had only half or 1/4 the population in North America, there'd be half or 3/4 less the pressure on the environment AND our rights and freedoms! With sane border policies utopia could virtually have been ours, but no, we wanted to INNOVATE.

Certain crowds among us did, that is.... the very title of this article shows forth the syndrome: it referred to "Native Americans" but I fixt it since the injuns came here from somewhere else just like our ancestors.

Anyone born here is just as much a native american as those who Columbus thought were living in India. Oh well.

We have over-concentrations of the population. A veritable Skinner box of rats raping and killing each other.

That is the truth. "Nation of immigrants" is one of the biggest lies that ever murdered a country!

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS, crowd. It's like saying dry water or square circles. Contradiction in terms. Insofar as this putrid cliché is true of ameriKa, it's true of every country on earth because NO population is the same place it was 10k years ago -- making the term totally meaningless.

In terms of national life 10k years is about the same as 200 or 300, so gliberals are extra-guilty on this fraud.

Maybe you should talk to Bill Gates about this. It seems he wants to reduce the population of Earth by at least 25% if not more. Who do you know that would volunteer to be reduced in this manner?

They don't have to volunteer. They didn't when our missionaries and other do- gooders ran all over the turd world bringing modern medicine and sanitation and otherwise setting their populations up to mushroom for a century or three.

These countries are paying a terrible price (China's one-child policy an ironic example) and it's hell on their ecology. The president of India recently made a plea to other countries to start taking millions of Indians in because India has more than it can handle! You know Gill Bates isn't talking about mowing the living down like commies.

I know of people who have voluntarily not reproduced partly or wholly because of the numbers -- nowhere near enough, alas. I'm one of 'em, and you may know I'm no granola-chawing hippie ;-)
