Our Indonesian volcano expedition leader Andi has sent us the below video of the current seismicity of Anak Krakatau: "Krakatau is going crazy ...100 times explosion a day ... very loud could be heard untill Carita 42 km away."

See for comparison above a seismograph from Krakatau during the volcano's eruption late November 2007, which was characterised by impressive Strombolian to Vulcanian type explosions.

Krakatau volcano (Indonesia): eruption continuous, vulcanian explosions Tuesday Jul 10, 2018 08:17 AM | BY: T

The explosive activity of the volcano continues and seems to be increasing with strombolian to vulcanian-style explosions from the summit crater. Ash plumes can be seen on satellite imagery now, but so far have been low and do not affect air traffic significantly.

We will be visiting the island and camp 3 nights during our next Volcano Special tour from 10-15 August. If you are interested to join a small group, please visit our Krakatau Volcano Special page!

Poster Comment:

This page has reports from several days and includes photos of the volcano and photos of the most recent seismograph compared to previous less violent ones. In the last big explosion at Krakatau in the 19th century people in Australia heard it 1,500 kms away.

USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. – 4um
